I bet one of those oscillating tools would make a fairly clean cut. No idea if that’ll impact how the glove box latches though, I don’t remember if the latch is just at the handle or what. I can go look at my truck if needed.

Honestly....I would just yank it out. It's flexible enough to do that and the latch is at the pull, so it's on the left anyway!

I tried it!! It's surprisingly rigid. I had the top left corner out, had a good hold on it but just couldn't break the bottom hinge or bend the door enough to pop it out.

    (I'm also extremely weak :D)

You joke, but now you've got me looking at roll cage sleeves. I could cut a section out, have access to filter and ecu and just bolt everything back in when I'm done.

hahah!!! I honestly didn't even consider the bottom, so yes....I can see the problem here. what if you just cut out the bottom hinge? that way you can still use the upper portion to keep it secure when you're done.

I have one of those made by Black and Decker. They do make a really nice and clean cut. He may even be able to cut the hinge across the bottom with it and just slide the compartment door out after unlatching it.

After spending a good amount of time on my back in the footwell, I can say that the bottom hinges are not all that visible. Definitely going to take some hacking. All others here can rest well knowing that the glove box is incredibly well engineered.

Afternoon gents (ladies too, if any in here). Been a long time. I was just stopping in to say hi. I hope everyone is doing well. I need to get out to some mod days soon, been a while since i turned a wrench on a truck. I think @fatfurious2 buddy with the 4 runner lift was the last one i put on. That was probably 3 years ago.

I almost ordered a t4r. Almost. I feel like this is going to be my last manual tranny vehicle purchase new since they are fewer and fewer available options, so i ordered an unlimited rubicon. If the t4r had manual options, i would have bit. Took 4 months for the jeep to arrive. Ill probably keep it 4-5 years, then swap out for something else.

Other than that, back out in the dating scene. And found a weird enjoyment out of restoring old lamps.

She was great to drive. I loved her. But i couldnt see a thing around anything bigger than a smart car in front of me. So i decided i needed something higher up. Its sluggish as hell compared to the subie and the supercharged taco, and the steering is sloppy. But i am getting used to it.

Yeah definitely on the lamps, let me know. I have lots of parts too. I find deals on parts and stock up. I got into oil lamps as well. Either restoration as oil, or convert to electric. I went a bit crazy and now have a huge amount to restore haha.

Damn. That SC is such a slut. Sure does get around. I miss that sound... :pout:

I have seen lamps made out of old car parts, they can be pretty cool. Would it be easier to weld them?
