Step-mom died of lung cancer. Went through all of the chemo and stuff...while smoking. You get no sympathy from me.

idk man im just not fond of doctors. dont get me wrong i go once a year for the wellness check and spend maybe 150 for that and blood work, but my opinion is that most illness can be resolved/prevented with proper diet and care. and the serious conditions that arise are usually due to sedentary lifestyle coupled with the bad dieting or just unfortunate genetics.

IMO the dieting is the biggest issue. too many processed foods and un-natural additives in todays world that wreck our immune system and just wreck our internals in general.

i'd much rather have spent that 16k buying quality healthy food than preventative doctor visits. thats just me though, i know my body very well and dont have any hereditary issues to look for. the only thing i have to worry about is asthma and again that can be helped with dieting and most people with asthma dont know that.

I feel the same way. I go if I can't stop the bleeding or it's broken. I pay about $130 a month.

We had to take my oldest to the ER last summer for a cut on his head. There was a family there for lice. Who in their right fucking mind would go to the ER for lice?

She was 55 and looked 70. Chain smoker. She would light the next one with the one she was putting out.

I get all that. And I agree philosophically.

Docs are like lawyers - you don't want to need one, but when you need one you really need one, and a good one at that.

Its important to understand: I'm not paying that for visits. I'm paying that so our doctor works for us, not for our insurance company.

Remember, the customer is whoever writes the check. Always. Your doc works for your health insurance company.
