500lbs of rubber and aluminum in route finally! This is the part/s I’m looking forward to the most! Can’t wait to see how these look.

Curious, will future replacement or service of the starter require any extra work, or is it accessible to you now? Awesome stuff.

Thanks man. I originally was considering minor changes to get it in there but it would have been an in shop fix to swap the starter so I changed completely. Now it is fully accessible and easier than stock to get out.

Try just putting heavy tacs on everything till you pretty close to done. I learned that the hard way same as you. A heavy tac is easier to cut than redoing an entire mount. Then when your close to done with the project; you just spend a day (or in my case a week) welding everything

Pretty much how I did it. Besides the frame and some other important things I didn’t want breaking, I tacd everything and cycled. It saved me a ton of time because there was a lot of grinding and cutting to get my stuff to fit

Been losing sleep over it, but I think Im gonna do a little swap-a-roo for a motor that makes power and can run on 89 or ethanol. LS too big. Not trying to have a clusterfuck in the bay. Have a few days to decide. Kinda gonna suck to scrap the whole drivetrain but im thinking better now than later.

That's what I thought, but wanted to make sure before I talked through my ass. That will be pretty sweet and definitely different.

4.3 is a great motor but the old ones don't make a lot of power. This 14 and up does. Basically the same as a 2uz and its small. Its dimensionally similar to the 3.4 as well. Just have to get a Howell harness for it and deal with the bs of wiring tank and speedo and have to make a power steering bracket to hold whatever psc pump is best. Prob one for an LS. The biggest issue is, im gonna have to go to an atlas cause the harness for a 4l60/700r4 is like 500 more and the adaptor for the yota case to that is another few hundred so it just makes sense to swap and sell most likely.

Atlas is definitely your best bet. Your setup now should sell pretty quick.

Im thinking now is the time to sell the cases as well. The trans that comes with that motor is a 6l80 btw.

LV3’s are awesome and a buddy is just about done swapping one in his 80 for a lot of the reasons you mentioned. Running a black box in front of an 80 tcase.

The biggest problem has been getting it tuned/wired since the EPA crackdown. Swaptime shafted him on a harness/PCM and I think he’s ended up doing most of it on his own. Made me know that I’m just going regular LS for ease when that time comes.
