Has anybody experienced their reverse lights and backup camera coming on when brake pedal is pressed I recently installed a tuner right before it started happening idk if that has anything to do with it

Did the added tuner require a reverse circuit input tap?

Remove the tuner and see what happens.

Check under the rear bumper, towing harness wires. They might be chaffed.

You have a grounding issue. Are both brake lights bright or are they dim or is one bright and the other dim?

Look inside the towing connector for rust on the pins.

Can you pull the camera fuse and see what happens. You have either the reverse circuit or camera circuit grounding when the brake lights come on. You didn't monkey with any wires anywhere else?

I haven’t messed with any wires recently and when I do they get tucked away neatly with heat shrink and such. Idk if the fuse would do much as the radio still works perfectly fine if it is on the same fuse but I’ll check in the am

Another location the wires might be frayed and touching is at each rear lamp assembly and/or harness.

That’s what I’m starting to think it is. It’s no longer doing with my brakes it’s doing it with my left turn signal

Do you have an add a fuse installed on that circuit?

I had something similar happen with my windshield wipers because said add a fuse was installed backwards. I used the added fuse for a 12 volt outlet in the back and for some reason the fuse blew on the windshield wipers yet would turn on automagically when something was plugged into my new 12 volt outlet. Smh...
