Not sure if this is the right forum for this, but I was looking for some opinions on the value of my Tacoma due to previously being in an accident.

Truck is a white 2016 TRD Sport 4 Door 5' Bed 4x4 / Automatic with 78K Miles and the KDMAX Tune

All upgrades below are 2 years old or newer.
    • Icon Stage 4 Lift with Delta Joints
    • 17" Level 8 Wheels
    • 33" BFG KO2 Tires
    • Victory 4x4 High Clearance Front Bumper
    • Victory 4x4 High Clearance Rear Bumper
    • Victory 4x4 Rock Sliders
    • Victory 4x4 Roof Rack
    • 2022 Tacoma OEM LED Headlight Swap
    • LED Tail Lights
    • Aurora 40" LED Light Bar
    • Aurora 20" LED Light Bar
    • Aurora LED Cube Lights in the Front and Rear Bumpers
    • Aurora LED Cube Windshield Ditch Lights and Brackets (Not Installed Yet)
    • All Interior Lights Swapped to LEDs
    • SQHD Switch Panel
    • Switch Pros 8 Button Control Panel
    • DB Customs Grll
    • Cab Mount Chop with Total Chaos Covers Welded In
    • Lomax Tri-Fold Toneau Cover
    • MBRP Dual Exhaust with Black Powdercoat
    • Undercover Swing Out Bed Storage Box
Truck was in an accident 2 years ago where I slid on some ice and ran the passenger side along a telephone pole. No frame damage, but I had to replace the front fender and both passenger side doors.

So I'm not sure how much impact the accident will have on the overall value.

Looking to sell the truck private sale and get something bigger at some point.

$30K - $32K something like that a fair asking price on a private sale?

    Thanks in advance.

In the past if you had a salvage title it would cut as much as 20% off the value. If it was repaired and you still have your regular title not so much. In today’s crazy market prior damage is having little effect on the value. In portland there are salvage title rebuilds that are asking near new prices!

As a rule, unless sold privately, mods add zero value to dealers. To an individual, if you find the right one, you can possibly get your money back that you spent on mods. Very seldom does this happen.

Yes it is not a salvage title. Just my regular title and it was repaired under insurance by a local autobody shop.

Some private parties care some dont, I’m with the above, in this market likely no issues

If you’re selling or trading it to a dealer, take those mods off and sell it separately. Most if not all dealers won’t give you a dime for the mods. The accident will devalue your truck by small amount considering the current market. Try to get rid of the truck now. If you want to sell it to a private party, it might take time.

Sounds like a $20,000 truck. I'm sure it's worth more to you, and you can probably get more than that for it.

It's a 1st year truck, I don't know if it's 4 wheel drive, it's far from original, it has 20k in aftermarket parts, the truck has been in an accident.

Have you printed the carfax for your VIN? Is the accident listed?

I am pretty sure you'll get your $30k for it. List it on CL, Cars.com and Autotrader. Don't even waste your time listing it here, IMO.

Actually I just bought the CarFax a minute ago and it doesn't show the accident.

Then you should price your truck at market rate, and not a penny less.
