What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I actually bought another OEM one last year with the updated gasket design and had the intention of just doing the swap myself, but never got around to it. Then I saw this one and it was out of stock. When it became available I ordered it.

Today I went to discount tire to get BF goodrich 265s and vision rims. It was one of the best days of my life. I just can't get over how awesome it feels to have turned an all stock SR5 4 banger into an aggressive prerunner build.

 

Nice boots! But the problematic boot is the inner boot.

 

ha,ha…. No, it’s a stainless steel oil cap with a TRD decal that you apply yourself. Chose this one over the “genuine Toyota TRD” because all of those have the TRD logo crooked when you screw the cap down. The OCD would eat at me!

I think that wouldn’t be possible in his truck. He has way less plastic and copper than the average Tacoma.

 

Despite the missing handle, the strange sound coming from the engine and the absolute shattered warranty, I know it still makes a great outfit. I used to have a bale handler on the old dodge dually. Them things aint cheap by a long shot, but free we can live with. A tow strap, t-post, 2 shackles and a comealong worked just as good. Horses were happy and it keeps people wondering how on earth i did that with no equipment with me. ...but a magician never revealed his tricks if wanted to stay in business haha

Got my sliders done and installed by @Shmellmopwho along with a CMC! If you're in the SoCal area you HAVE to hit him up! I had sliders done by him for my 2nd gen a long time ago and knew I had to come back when I got my 3rd gen. Sliders look killer with the filler plates and the added TRD logo on the kickout side and the CMC looks like it came from the factory like that! Can't thank Ryan enough for amazing work and just being awesome!

What is the green garden hose clamped in there for?

 

They only make 2 kits. The extra long is for most trucks. The super long is for double cab long beds. No idea why they can't just call them standard and long.

 

The blue air hose?

That feeds the tank under the truck from the manifold (which the compressor is feeding).
