Unless they traded with a friend with an OffRoad or SR5 so that THEY could have the scooped hood...

Or the driver was short and got in/out without using running boards/grab handle.

The stupid wheels with P-rated tires and bumper is a giveaway that it's not a functional "OffRoad" model.

Yes, and the 2005-2011 scooped hood is even taller than the 2012-2015, so it's a visibility hazard for shorter people in the driver seat.

Didn't read the tread closely, just skimmed over it, but if somewhat let that seat mount, one of teh first things one would see every time they get in, get that nasty, i can only imagine how neglected it is underneath.

Brought my truck to my mechanic to get the other two ignition coils replaced; Found yet another fake DCLB Off-Road; No diff locker button on this one...

    Could be that yup

    Or this.

Still makes me laugh that my 5 foot 1 wife had a 96 access cab on 33s and had zero issue getting in and out of the driver's seat without sidebars or handles..

A friend of mine was 6 foot and wanted the non scoop, said the reflection irked him off the scoop

The TRD Off Road decal itself doesn't look correct for the year and color of the truck. "TRD" had a red outline and "OFF" sat above "ROAD". I believe that's a newer decal used in the 2.5 2nd Gens.

Anyway... are you in search for another 2nd Gen?
The smoker smell would probably be a deal breaker for me. Trying to clean the seats, headliner, and carpet would just be a lot of work.

Truck might have been in a wreck and a gen 2.5 bed put on as part of the rebuild

Is that a Daihatsu HiJet? I see those at shows fairly often, and I'm seeing the cab over minitrucks on the road more often these days due to the 25-year loophole; I've got a thread where I post them!

Not right now, but if it something happened to my truck and I had to get a new one fast, I would definitely put a 2nd Gen 4x4 near the top of my list!

Ya. They are pretty cool. I think I talked to you about them in another thread which I thought was this thread.

That would really not surprise me...

NOT-SO-FUN FACT: My truck has had the left rear fender and the passenger door replaced in the last six years due to accidents that weren't my fault; The rear fender was new because the body shop couldn't find a totaled truck from which to get one, and the door came from a totaled MGM regular cab!

The Honda Acty and the Subaru Sambar are the direct competitors, and then if you want something a little bit bigger there's the Mitsubishi Delica half-cab. I have driven two Delicas in my life, including an L300 on which the half-cab is based; The van I drove had a slushbox and I've never seen a half-cab that wasn't a stick shift, but I can't imagine that the driving experience between the two is much different. As of right now, a 1993-1998 Delica L300 is my dream vehicle with which to supplement my Tacoma. If I sold the Tacoma, I could afford to buy a Delica, but I really don't any to sell the Tacoma...

There was just an article in Hemmings motor news about these and the 25 year loop hole.

And if they're older than 1997, the diesels are exempt from smog testing in California!
