Bill, your JK automatic? If so, question for you. I don't drive mine too much. But I've noticed that when the transmission is cold it's a little cranky. Hard 1-2 shift, and some hunting maybe. Normal? Yours do this?

Once it gets some heat into the fluid, it's fine. I'm hoping that since this isn't an FCA transmission it'll last forever.

Nah. Next expensive is Honda. And it's $1k more. I don't even see anything used in that price range yet.

Is Kayo Chinese? If so then definitely wouldn't be interested.

Negative ghost rider.. I’m rowing a 6 speed manual. My rover did that in cold weather but from 4th to overdrive (no shift). Though is was a problem till I found out it was a temp thing in the transmission. Once temp was at a certain… she was fine. As for the jeep autobox, no idea if that is a true statement or not.

Gas gas is owned by ktm now. So husky, gas gas, and ktm are all very similar

Wouldn't that be way to heavy tooling around in the woods?

And I think you called me fat right there, but not sure.

I thought you said you were stick at some point, but then something you said the other day made me think otherwise.

Guess I'll just run it till it dies and scope some prices out on a rebuilt unit.

if it makes you feel any better, the buses at work will slam a 2-1 downshift in the morning, but clears up after driving around. sometimes enough to throw me in the seat. they're still cooking right along lol

I'm not overly concerned. Just wondering if the transmission is going to fall out so e day.

The only difference I noticed between the 250/450x is what I like to call the “oh shit” factor. The 250s got it a little, but the 450 will fly out from under you in a second. I think Dave would be fine with a crf250f/r/rx, speaking strictly power wise.

I’m like a whole foot shorter and weaker than you and the 450x is fine in the woods, weight wise. It really just depends on what you think is fun on a bike. Is there anything at the play ground you wouldn’t wanna do on a dirt bike?

I will not be doing any Supercross jumps for sure. Well, maybe if I'm at Chris' and that wall calls to me. But normally no.

Just something to bash around in the woods with. I don't think there's anywhere local to ride anymore. And I'd rather the bike didn't beat me up while controlling, etc. Honestly, I think, just like all my bike purchases, it's going to come down to what I fit on. I can want and want for the rest of the day, but if I look like a monkey fucking a football me joints and things ain't gonna like me.

This guy sold his heavily modded 3rd gen taco and got this jeep in stock trim. I like people that can’t leave stuff stock.
