Yeah always two people, I’m 190 and my girlfriend is 140. Once you put down a. Air mattress you don’t notice any sag.

Cool thanks. Would you say your plywood is still flat after all this time?

That I did on waterproofing a bed for a cap.
I wanted to use that pocket behind the wheel for storage and to also still be able to access the bed side pockets, or the electric outlet, but wanted a finished backside or security by stuff being hidden.
I cut trap doors in my top side and put hinges and a hole so.my finger can pull them up.

Now that my bed platform is finished I need to relocate my bed light switch since the old spot is the bed cubbie and will now be under the plywood. Im thinking about just cutting a hole in the side of the bed and mounting a recessed cubbie in there? Any suggestions on the relocation? Id like it protected and out of the way.

That looks pretty nice how much is that. I have a long bed I could see myself using that as long as my exped mattress still fits. Looks like it would.

As with Decked drawers they’re costly, weigh too much and waste space but otherwise super cool. Getting one used takes care of one issue. Pretty much the reason this thread exists. People have different needs/priorities and those inspire different custom diy’s. If it’s right for you you’ll love it because they’re well made.

My extinguisher mounted nicely. Not horizontal though, but I bet that could be done easily enough.

Well I just bought it but don't think I'm gonna keep it. Part of having the camper shell was to have a sleeping platform. This allows me 4 inches and that's not gonna be enough

Anyone using composites as sleep panels instead of Birch? Something like the 3m e-panels or Honeycomb composites?

I made a tool box out of scrap aircraft floor boards once. Strong as all get out and extremely light weight! They were aluminum clad luan ply.
I've been on the hunt for some of the same big enough to make a platform. (haven't looked very hard. kind of down the list of priorities) I think they would work really really well!

I've flipped through a bunch of pages of this thread and it seems almost everyone is building drawers/platforms at the height of the wheel wells. Are there any examples of platforms/benches/drawers at or slightly above the bed rails?
