Are some of the rules on this forum. Namely, the rule regarding a certain # of posts or whatever the criteria is for posting items for sale/trade. Although it is understandable it it is also a disservice to the community in my opinion.

In all past experiences, TW members are always grateful and typically folks that utilize the goods rather than a numb skull off craigslist that is flipping items or in it for the wrong reasons(s).

For example, the 2020 OR I had was totaled and being that I usually come to the site for informational purposes, not water cooler talk all day, I had no outlet for a ton of "like-new" items that surely would've been appreciated.

Anyways, rant over but I've got to know...am I the only one with this stance?

The rule of 50 legit posts is there to keep fly by sellers from just using this site for a quick buck instead of being a contributing member to all of the great discussions about tacos. Click on the link at the top that says Buy/Sell/Trade, the rules are there.

For every rule that exists on the BST list of rules, it exists because someone ruined it for the honest folk.

Also, the most important line that is buried about halfway down that list of rules, is 'this is not your personal Craigslist." Which is true. This is a place to talk about trucks. Besides, I have far better luck on CL than I do here.

I'm in the under 50 crowd too, but at least I can still buy sending a PM.

It should take you like a day, tops, to get 50 posts here at TW lol. It's like the lowest of bars to clear.

I’ve seen mods shut people down for trying to do a speed run to 50 though.

Yeah true, but it doesn't need to take 2 months either. Tons of topics here new people can contribute to. Heck, making a new owner thread will get you most of the way there without any issues.

    Or 2 years haha.

The post requirement is there to protect members from scammers. Other forums with low or no post count requirements are full of scammers.

    End thread.

TacomaWorld is a website for members to have discussion about Tacomas and associated topics. If all you care about is selling stuff, you would be better off using a site dedicated to that such as Craigslist, OfferUp, eBay or kijiji.

He’s already surpassed the “post seven times in several years and then buy a Tundra and post a farewell thread” threshold, unfortunately.

I've been active for years, just never made an effort, so I don't know how hard it is to get to 50 without intentionally spamming.

I'm literally only posting so that it will show how many messages I've sent.

In the 53 minutes since you posted this, you could’ve made at least another 2 - 3 replies on your own thread. It really ain’t that hard. Even a low poster like myself gets it

Agree to some degree, maybe 50 is too many. I don't post a lot but could see the value of selling on here if I had parts. I have seen others with 50 saying they can't sell yet, maybe do to with which subforums the 50 had been posted in?

The point of “post less, read more” is for those members whose first post is an easy answered with a specific answer that can be easily searched. Or to help them ask smarter questions than “Will 33s fit without trimming?” There is nothing wrong with posting all day in many of the BS threads that exist all over the forum, you can get to 50 in a day just by participating in the conversation in the stock tips/GameStop appreciation thread.
