I bought the GFC Mantis claw mounts and a ladder for the outside since I'll be camping with my GF a lot, so moving the floor panels isn't really feasible if one of us has to get out.

If you do climb through the bed, it's simple. close the latches while it is open (lock them if you want to), pull the tailgate closed, then close the upper panel. They have a sliding piece that you can move out of the way of the latch, then back in place to secure the panel.

No stepstool in the bed, I haven't found an issue with climbing up onto the panels from the bed.

    Not much stock left.
Curious if anyone has had their bed start to pull apart? I noticed the tailgate was gradually starting to become more difficult to open. This last time after pulling the handle it didn’t open, so upon inspection noticed the top part of the bed on the side passenger side had about 1/2 to 3/4” gap. It’s not horrible, but it’s certainly heading that way.

I do have TC bed stiffeners installed. I have a bed rack with the 1st edition CVT wedge tent, and C4 swing out bumper with the spare. It’s all heavy AF, but probably no more than most are carrying.

I’m wondering if anyone has come up with a solution. I currently have ratchet straps installed while I figure out a more permanent solution.

Best solution I could come up with was tying the rear of my bed rack into the bed mounting bolts, aka the frame, to relieve the bedside stress.

Did you lose a lot of bed space?

    Yeah.
I have the TC bed stiffeners as well, haven't noticed any change in the gaps on the sides of the tailgate. Bed stiffeners should be plenty of reinforcement. My CVT probably weighs about the same.

Your bumper and swing out attach to the frame, correct? Any attachment to the bed along the side? Everything tight?

Nice! I may have to borrow that idea. Thanks!

Yes, the bumper is bolted to the frame. Not necessarily an issue with the bed. It's just a lot of weight sitting back on the part of the bed that is pulling apart.

There were two bolts that either got jacked, when I installed it, or got jacked after the fact. When I put the new bolts in and removed the ratchet straps, it pulled apart again, so I just thought I would ask if anyone else was in a similar boat.

Anyone know where I could find the rubber end caps to the smittybilt (i would assume other tents as well) RTT mounting bars?
Lost one on this last trip somehow.

They are on sale right now. At one point there was an advertisement of 40% off on the site and the prices reflected that. Now the price on the site is the reg price and I think maybe they apply the discount on checkout. My buddy just bought one this last weekend and they said they changed the price back on the site because ppl were thinking it was 40% off the already discounted price. I would suggest reaching out to them to verify if interested.

EDIT: In case you were wondering it was $1797.00 at the discounted price.

Yeah that's kinda where I was at. I already had a tent (MIA Pioneer) and sticking with the same size I just didn't want to miss out on the deal. I received the tent yesterday and have yet to get it mounted although so far I can see the difference in quality and design. I'm glad I did it. From other posts it's been said they are going to be dropping a new hybrid design so that's why these are on sale.

What color did you purchase? So I was looking for tan and Oregon was the only one that had it.. I was hoping Chattanooga would have but they didn't only had the gray.. but was a floor model..

Well I got it mounted..I used 1-3/4" exhaust clamps and 3" bolts. I also got 2-1/2" bolts but they just weren't gonna make it since the exhaust clamps don't rly flex. I added a pic to show how much bolt is left. I don't rly care for it but it will do for now. I'm going to prolly look for some button cap bolts and put nuts in the rail slide inserts. That way there's nothing rly hanging down.

All in all I'm quite pleased with the tent itself and feel it was worth the upgrade for sure. I can already tell the bed pad it far better than my last tent. Also I wasn't aware it came with the USB led light strip! I'll be opening it back up in the next couple days if anyone is interested in specific pics lmk.
