    Well
After like 5 years of pain and suffering after my Exxon Valdez spill on my Carpet in the boat
And trying everything I could think of to try and at least make it more presentable, I finally Hit on the right product and procedure to make it look so much better.

    463CF5DE-EB63-4F23-AB79-9F4B75A664F7.jpg
The only problem now is after it dries I think the rest of the boat will look like shit.. lol
    That’s ok, better than 2 1/2 X 2 foot black stain..

Had it restored, 9’ Shakespeare 6WT, 1959 model year. Blank was made in the Heddon factory in Dowagiac,Mi. Rod was finished in the Shakespeare factory in Kalamazoo, Mi. It’s fun to use, got an old Shakespeare fly reel to go with it.

What line are you using I had someone tell me they used silk back in the day and I would need a special line.

It’s Rio I think, its a weight forward 5wt. The fly shop recommended it, 6wt rod, 5wt line, casts pretty easy. It’s a heavy rod compared to modern gear.
Yes silk line was used back in the day, you can still buy it $, you have to dry it after use or it will rot.

Funny thing is the factory here is a total hole in the wall. Little building in a town of about 500, little sign out front. Drive right by and not even know it's there. But they make outstanding rods.

Don't show cowflinger, he can't handle it!

Hope you have insurance on that thing

    She'll take the grey one!

It’s not that valuable, now if it was a 59 RL Winston in mint condition, big money.
