MESO Customs Dual Color Map and Dome Lights

Oh good I’m not crazy. It’s a known “feature”. Also sad it doesn’t stay on red if you flip to red. Requesting my refund. Wish you could still order the previous double click version.

 

Only the Driver's side? Have you got it turned on in map mode by pressing it?

Came on here to see if mine were defective. So, glad to see they're not, but also disappointed in the lack of constant on red

 

My order arrives tomorrow. I'll wait and see what Meso will do before reaching out for a refund.

 

this! Pressed it and it worked but the lights are now recessed from the bezel and the button to switch between red and white fell out

I was gonna suggest to kill your battery and pull the console off (it's easy if you hadn't) and double check the lights install. As for your button that got legs....maybe it'll "pop" back in?

 

Update y'all,
Put in a warranty request / query on white default issue, and it seems they are working on a fix. Been added to a list for when they come up with a solution. Good company. They seem to be standing behind their product.

 

Yup, I expected this to happen once they got through the stacks of tail lights to ship out.

 

I finally received a response to my query last night.

"We're working on a fix right now. I can add you to the list of customers that would like a replacement. Unfortunately, there is not way to default the light to red. We'll get replacement out once we get them. "

 

I guess I got lucky that I got the back that takes a double click. I'love the default to red and hope they get a fix to you.

Aw. This is unfortunate. I ordered these last week because I wanted always on red with the very rare ability to go white if I dropped something small I had to find. Too bad there will be no DIY fix. I guess I’ll have to get on the list for a replacement then.

 

Here was my response back today when I brought the issue up;

We changed the onboard relay to a processor on the map lights because it sometimes required a double press to change (which wasn’t reliable). The trade off for that is the lights will resort back to white. So now it’ll stay on white but will work better and more reliable in the truck. They'll only resort back to white.

Late to this thread, just saw it. My apologies.
OK SO WHAT'S UP WITH THE MAP LIGHTS DEFAULTING TO WHITE MESO?!

Here's the deal. First batch of dual color map lights used a mechanical relay to switch colors. (easy way to know is you will hear a loud relay click when pressing the button).
Good news is it stayed on the last color it was left on. Downside... something in the circuitry forced you to double click the button to switch. Not reliably switching colors. A minor annoyance, so I set off to fix it. We removed the mechanical relay in place for a microprocessor. It fixed the switching reliability completely but my engineer noted it would default to white. I didn't think it would be such a big deal as I was focused on the double pressing issue. Well..you guys have spoken and it defiantly seems like it!! I will be going back to a mechanical relay and see if we can nail down the double press issue. If you have the last batch that defaults to white, and can't live with it not remembering red.. I totally understand. Send us a ticket and I am happy to refund you.

 

any idea on when they will restock? Been on the email wait list for ever.. not that I’m impatient or anything lol hell I bough the whites just to scratch the itch… haha I’d even take the auto back to white ones that don’t bother me..

Hey, I purchased mine through Runnin4Tacos and also ran into the same problem people are describing here. If you’re in development of a newer version that will allow defaulted red, would you honor an exchange directly to you instead of having to ship my items back to R4T and hope they honor the refund? Just trying to figure out the best strategy of being able to obtain the next version of the lights! Thanks for checking forums and being responsive. It goes a long way!
