My Ranger was Line X'd about 10 years ago and have had no issues with it. I've hauled rocks, cinder blocks, firewood without so much as a scratch. It faded but I understand the new stuff has UV treatment.

get a can of that stuff and spray your Line-X, brings it back to shinny and new again, last 3 or 4 months.

It's a composite bed, dont waste your money. Get a bed mat and call it a day.

Along the same lines, the easiest and best way to tell if a truck's owner is a princess, is to see if the bed is all shiny and new.

You can get a spray liner but you risk it chipping off down the road with the composite bed. The liners dont hold up too well over time on plastic/composite pieces.

I never had the rattle can last in any metal truck bed. Its good for other projects but for the bed, its just a waste of time.

Spend the money and have linex or rhinoliner do it.

    That stuff is tough

So I get tired of people just making shit up, especially when it comes to stuff like this. Taken directly from LineX's substrate prep. guide. READ IT before you post generic, made-up information.

#1) Composites are increasing in popularity which means it is becoming more likely that someone will request a LINE-X coating for them. Many truck manufacturers are using composites for tailgates, beds, skid plates and body panels. You may have already sprayed LINE-X to a composite surface. LINE-X adheres to composites quite well with the same preparation as a normal truck bed.

#2) I took the time to ask the people spraying this brand of bed liner if they had sprayed composite beds before (i.e on the tacoma). They said they had done quite a few and no one has come back thus far for repairs/complaints.

Yep. Tossing concrete rubble or bricks, etc will crack this bed if no rubber mat

Mine is not made up information. The company we use, Wolf Bed Liners, informed me of this when we took a Jeep in to get the interior sprayed. The liner will adhere to the plastic/composite but has a higher chance of chipping off down the road.

I have had over 200 liners done, I deal with him on a monthly basis. I trust what he tells me. Yes the liner will adhere but again you have a higher chance of it chipping off down the road.

Doesn't the LineX get scuffed up or does it always look brand new?

The liners hold up pretty well against abuse but sometimes they can be a bitch to clean even with the pressure hoses.

I have a base model Prerunner with the black fender flares, I understand they can be sprayed with bed liner (line X). Any experience with this? I'm just wondering if they need to be removed from the truck before or not? It's just an idea I'm kicking around, just curious if anyone has real world experience with this.

The guy we deal with has done full body sprays. I would imagine taking them off is the easiest option. Its probably what they are going to do.

If I could afford it, I would do the whole exterior of my truck.

I'll take that experience/trust to heart then. I didn't know if that was just another post like several others where people call it a terrible idea/waste of money because it's not a 3 inch lift or 285 tires.

I just got mine sprayed today. It looks great and if it's anything like all my other trucks that had linex its virtually indestructable.

I had mine done almost 7 years ago and it is not as dark, but still in great shape. It was worth it for me.
