Well, maybe I’ll take the Cerakote kit back and order some of that spray clear. Did you sand them? What grits if you did?

Picked up a OEM roof rack from my local dealership today. 1 hour, 1 broken torx bit, and a half dozen cross threaded bolts later...

Install was fairly simple, but a few of the punchouts didn't line up with the weld nuts making aligning things a PITA. After years of researching roof racks and realizing I don't really like any offerings on the market, I just settled for OEM. I like the look more than I thought I would now that it's on the truck.

Put her on the PR ferry, drove half way across Puerto Rico because the supplier I found with “reasonable” shipping to PR used a freight forwarder. Meant jumping through 15 hoops, but at least I finally have my wheels.

My flares are also here, but I need to pick them up tomorrow. Debating installing the flares before getting the wheels out on, or maybe I’ll sneak out on my lunch break…

You lights came out real nice man. What process did you follow? I have a 2K clear sitting around that I should get to using.

Thanks, its all about taking alot of time thoroughly wet sanding and ensuring you have a smooth pre paint finish

I use 800 grit-1500 grit-2000 grit and wipe down lenses really well with alcohol or wax/tar remover. I used a whole can of spray max for both headlights. 3 lighter coats with a few minutes in between and I lay it on as thick as I can with the rest of the can, probably a good 4-5 layers. I spray about 3-4" away from the lenses with a 50" overlap. It takes about 7-8 passes to cover the entire headlight.

Truth...the clear is starting to fail on the tops of my spyder headlights...they made it 2½ years before the sun had their way with them.

I love that feeling of getting back in my truck after weeks of driving smaller cars. I feel like I'm driving a tank

Well that's not what I wanted to hear after just installing the factory rack today. In what way did it kill your paint? From rubbing?

I just ordered those headlights as well, was everything plug and play? Curious how well the daytime running lights function.

    Also welcome!

Plug and play as advertised! The daytimes function/ look great. I just haven’t been running them. Did you purchase the LED version? I highly recommend them over the non LED
