Do you have good sockets? Cheap poor fitting sockets would of done that too

Oh no the bolts were nearly seized on is what I'm saying. My brother was using the jack pole pried against the ground with me on a 2 ft long beaker bar going the opposite way. I have cuts on my back from the bolts breaking free and me smacking on my cut fenders @Wulf warned me

The stripping was on us lol

I'm gonna quote you here to avoid the shitshow of the daily thread, but you really should get all matching OEM rotor bolts. You have a couple cheese grade fasteners in there and a couple of high strength but still weaker than stock replacements. Not a good place for compromises on parts.

 

They're all grade 10.9 with one 8.8, cheese grade?

Edit: they only had 9 of them, guess i can change that one 8.8 if needed?

 

@Blue92 also said i could limp it with 4 bolts if i had to when one rounded out yesterday. Am i missing something here?

 

The stock Toyota rotor bolts are beyond the 10.9 metric bolt grade. I'm letting you know for your own info, insurance isn't kind in cases like these if you have a brake failure and take something/one out.

Toyota is using a Class 10 JIS bolt which has different strength characteristics than a Class 10.9 Metric

If you plan to get OEM bolts anyway, you can disregard this

 

Guess I'll look into it within the next couple weeks-months. Don't plan on thrashing the truck for a bit. Had 3 of them round out on me and wasn't feeling the shitty bolts that were on already. Maybe the guy overtightened or just from offroading they seized up.

 

Part # to save for reference?

 

I always just pull them out with an impact, they've never stuck for me. Some people loctite them. Socket size is important and wherever possible on heavy torque stuff you should use 6 point sockets vs 12 (which are more likely to ruin a high torque fastener)

 

I was using a 2 foot breaker bar with my brother leveraging the jack pole on the ground against the lugs with the nuts on them (for reference of how seized they were), was some grey shit on the threads maybe some locktite. No way any impact save for maybe air tools would bust it.
