Yeah not to mention earlier in this thread his name, address and phone number was shared. It’s all public info and no one is advocating doing anything malicious.

No worries man, I understand your frustration. We're all in agreement that you got screwed over, and I believe karma will catch up to him eventually (we just can't publicly promote for forcing it).

I did just because it has no bearing on this situation and could be inferred as violent (the world we live today). I am out almost $1200 and are pissed off! I used Affirm (I was at work, did not have my wallet and there was a deal at that time). I paid the Affirm payment off in 1 day and now have no recourse. They do not offer buyer protection except to file a dispute with the company... Now there is no company. My attorney seems to think it's a waste of time now with the business defunct. Basically I am out and he made out.
Moral of the story is don't pay using Affirm or any other way that does not offer buyer protection.

Oh I don't disagree, there's no doubt a "do as I say, not as I do" type of double standard sometimes when it comes to mods here, but I guess its just the name of the game. I understand everybody's frustration, and I have absolutely zero power to demand somebody remove or edit their post. If he or anyone else feels the need to share it, so be it; I was just expressing the point of view that going down that road is what leads to the really helpful threads disappearing, and I think we can probably all agree with that. If anyone wants to share it, go for it; I just hate that the members and guests here get the shaft when a business goes under, screwing everyone over, and you get slaps on the wrist for talking about it. I was just stating that I've seen it before, we all have. One thing leads to another, threads disappear, members banned, and all for just trying to warn others of shitty businesses.

I’m guessing affirm is linked to your bank account and not your credit card? That’s a real bummer there’s no recourse.

No one is going to get banned or have threads removed or locked for discussing instances of being ripped off. Everyone, including the mods, considers it a public service.

You should really read the thread I posted. Don’t make newbies on here feel like they’re going to have the mods after them for sharing information about getting fleeced, that’s not cool.

We're on different TW's then; it happens all the time. If you read anything I've posted in the thread, or the other countless SOS threads (that got locked; imagine that....), I've always been on your side of this. The dudes a real asshole, and people here are screwed over bc of it. As much as I'd love to advocate for anyone to fill in the blank "if they see him in person", its what locks threads, gets cleaned up, and sometimes members banned. I believe they have every right and are completely justified doing it, but history tells us sometimes mods disagree. Especially when it becomes a real legal issue, and you can't even search their name by keyword in the search on the site. Take Taco toonz for example. Have fun trying to post a negative review around here about them. Its okay if we disagree, I'm still on your side; and I hope the thread carries on, being a huge warning beacon to all. I'm not here to fear monger anyone, just giving a personal opinion that all are welcome to agree or disagree with. At the end of the day, I'm still standing on the side of the TW members here in the thread that got hosed, and hope for the best for them.

Does anyone know if SOS was purchased by new owners or if they've gone out of business? I know the website is still up and running which may or may not mean anything.

I’m in the same situation as you. Haven’t made a payment yet but am in dispute with affirm so hopefully they get me out of the situation.

not sure how affirm works as i've never used it but is it linked to a card or bank account like paypal? if so i'd reach out to that entity and see if their consumer protection covers you

You have a lot of whatever it takes to ask those two questions and make that comment. How is your latest and greatest powder coater working out for you? Have you been re-instated as an approved vendor on TW?

To keep on topic (says this guyo_O), I would definitely reach out to affirm and pull every option available at this point. Seems like you can really only file for dispute within 60 days, but when you get desperate, sometimes you just have to call in respectfully and escalate it as far as you possibly can. You may get the same results, but will hopefully sleep better at night knowing you did everything you possibly could, outside of taking it to court.

Anyone here have any experience with Victory 4x4? After my experience with SOS, I'm hesitant to use any company without a massively good reputation...couldn't find anything in the forums, but I also didn't see all the red flags about SOS before buying their sliders.
