I don't care what anyone says, self-checkout is the greatest thing ever

 

I will only ever use self checkout









But that's because I don't support unions

Aside from notching out the top of the chimney with the plasma cutter (will do after break), I'm done with my school project.

 

They've been talking about a big grocery strike happening soon down here if an agreement isn't reached. Last time that happened (that I remember), I was 18 years old and my friend and I did graveyard shifts working as scabs at the supermarket making +/- $25/hour. We didn't know or care about any issues that were being fought over, we just wanted more money like most kids do at that age.

had to park a mile away and sneak through the strikers to get in so they didn't kick our asses though haha

I like the checkout line because even with a wait it is usually faster than scanning my own items lol

 

if I had a big cart full then yeah I probably would too, but a lot of times out here they only ever employ one or two checkers at a time and the lines get crazy. Then you get Kens and Karens arguing over pennies and expired coupons and taking forever so I'd rather just do it all myself lol

though those same people also use the self-checkout which gets frustrating. Supermarkets at rush hour are a good place to practice zen

 

That makes for a cool story at least!

 

Dropping.. I'm ready for it to go below $3.

 

looks bad but this means we're dropping too, albeit very slowly. Was well over $6 a couple weeks ago

 

Some people near me are bitching because it isn't $1.99. Consider people in Furnace Creek.

 

Furnace Creek has a population of just over 100 people though for a reason haha. One of the hottest places on earth

that station is one of those 'well you didn't plan ahead so we're going to gouge you for it' kinds of gas stations

 

I still self-checkout a full cart faster than some of the boomers with 5 items around here, it's ridiculous. And ofc they keep 6/18 self checkouts open and 1 regular checkout open at a time because they don't want to pay cashiers anymore, so I only go to my Frys after 7pm now

 

Fry's gave me an appropriate appreciation for the slightly higher prices at Bashas'... so I stopped going to Fry's lol

 

Their customer service around the entire state has just plummeted in the last 8-10 years. I'd try something else, but this one is literally walking distance if I wanted

 

Does anyone else use trim removal tools on things other than trim?

With a wood screw only a thread or 2 into the seal and a block of wood, it's the best damn seal removal tool I've used
