    Still figuring it out…
Hey guys I’m new to the forum and new to the Tacoma’s. Diehard Chevy fan turned . I just purchased a 2014 Tacoma with 95k miles last week and I’m noticing a vibration on the passenger side at 40 mph. I did put it in 4wd hi and it seemed like it went away. I notice the needle bearing is on the drivers side but my vibration is coming from the passenger side. Would this still be the issue? Also the truck has the Dunlop tires from factory still on them, yes they are shot and junk. I’m replacing them by next week hopefully. The truck is leveled Im pretty sure the only thing they did was put spacers on it. Please help thanks

When my truck had the vibration I felt it more throughout the whole front end.
I suppose there is a chance the front passenger side ball bearing is bad. But I never seen it happen yet.
I’d still recommend the bushing, simply because the majority of the time when the vib goes a way in 4WD, it’s the needle bearing.

Yeah, that’s kind of like throwing parts at it in hopes of a fix.
But you say it’s been leveled, so the bushing can’t hurt.

That’s what I read front end but mine is on the passenger side is what I feel/hear the noise and vibration is coming from but the bushing is on the drivers side. It only happens at 35-40mph.

Coming to work today I took a back road and started swerving back and forth like they do in nascar during a caution. I believe when I turn left the sound would go away but turning right it would make that noise,is this associated with the needle bearing?

No, that sounds like a wheel bearing.

Thanks that’s what I thought too now since the vibration is on the passenger side but at 35-40mph is the worse, I’ll have to try it in 4wd and swerve? Cause when I engage 4 hi it seemed to go away would the wheel bearing be the culprit as well for that?

I would expect the noise to still be heard even in 4WD. It could change the tone of the sound, but I think there would still be a sound.

I didn’t try 4WD when my wheel bearings were bad. I could hear them. And the noise changed just as you described above when going into and out of corners.
