Duratracs

I appreciate the feedback I chickened out though lol and went with BFG’s I’ve had them on all my Jeeps and know they are great in snow so Duratracs will have to wait. No question they are a great tire

 

Duratrac's suck in the rain.......... I'll need new tires by the end of the year. Going with either BFG's or M/T's

 

Really eh….I think it’s best to stick with what you know. I did that with Pirelli’s on my car and hated them went right back to what I knew I liked

 

They came with my truck and looks-wise, they look good but a little noisy on the highway. Going to replace them with Michelin defenders when it’s time. Happy with them so far.

 

I ran DuraTracs on my JKUR, great tire for traction and good in the snow. The biggest problem was the sidewall, I got them from Discount Tire and glad I had the replacement warranty, since 2 sidewall got damaged and couldn't be repaired. I wasn't the only one, 3-4 guys in the Jeep club had the same problem.
I now run only 10ply tires, the rocks out here will tear up a tire.

I just picked up a set yesterday in stock size 265/70r16. They are louder than the wranglers that came on my Off Road, but I knew that going into it. Nothing some dynamat won’t help solve.

they certainly do help transform the look of the truck, and will serve me better during moose and caribou seasons.

 

I've been running Duratracs for the past 10 years, 235/85/16 E and get them siped when I buy them. The best tire for year round working in the bush.

 

Had pirelli scorpions ATR on my 07 ranger and they were the worst tires I’ve ever had. Only good for dry highways.

The new pirelli scorpion AT plus is much better.

 

The wife's 4runner has Duratracs. Dealer installed option.
Damn they are noisy.
At low speed, about 5-10 mph they vibrate from the tread pattern.

they seem pretty good off road though, in the few times we have done it in her 4R, but nothing serious.

Way better all around options exist for less money.

 

Falken wildpeak is an excellent all around tire. I didn’t think much of them when they first came out, but after having them for a couple weeks, I really love them.

Best wet traction I’ve ever had, very smooth for E load and excellent road manners. I’m sure they will do great off-road as well. Hopefully going camping next weekend so I will test them out.

I did have duratracs and oh man, they were absolutely amazing in the snow and off-road. Other than that, they were meh.

 

I run Duratracs. Can confirm they are loud but they were the only 3PMS certified tire in the size I wanted. I don't think they're wearing out fast though. TBD

 

I loved duratracs on my 2nd gen. Obv not as good as dedicated winter tire for harsh winters but they great 2.5 season tire here. I rotated them often

 

Those (ATR's) come on the newer f150's in 20". Two of my buddies just got 2022's they hate them. They suck in snow.

 

Yes they still do come on f150s. Quite frankly, they suck at everything. I was young and dumb and only bought them cuz they looked good.

 

I’m sure I’m not the only one who will admit this but although BFG’s AT’s are a great tire in all conditions they to me just look the best….hands down IMO

 

Be too easy to dump on Ford on a Toyota forum but I rented an F150 in Moab on a bike trip and it was the worst thing I had ever driven lol

 

I will agree that’s it’s a great tire in all conditions and it does have the best looking sidewall, it’s also the thickest out of all ATs too.

I had no issues in snow, rain, dry pavement or off-road. Balanced great. I’ve been running KO2s for quite a while and wanted to try something new. KO2s have the same tread pattern for like 40 years, so there is that.

Wildpeaks are better in the wet than KO2s, I noticed that right away. These tires really grew on me in the last couple weeks. Haven’t had a chance to go in snow or off-road yet. Hopefully next weekend.

 

Most of us don't off road much, so I ruled out a lot of A/T's that were too aggressive. I just wanted a good looking capable enough tire. Bridgestone Revo's are good looking, somewhat capable, and very quiet. I love them.
