I think if you're only using it for street, they will wear fast. I took that picture in NYC. It definitely looks cool, but probably wont last long

I'm in agreement with both of you. While they look great, function presides over form especially when it comes to keeping the rubber side down lol

Agreed. Definitely need a spare set of wheels for the dirt tires. That’s my plan for the future supermoto

It’s all a big compromise. Always have to lose in one area to gain in another. However you use the bike the most should dictate tire choice, not a stranger on the internet like me haha. A T7 is about the biggest bike I would throw a 50/50 on. But that’s not YOU! :)

i hated my tkc80 tires at first

but after burning them up a bit and lowering the PSI

they pretty smooth, i rip the 500excf around town like a toy

obviously when i hop on the cbr after its awkwardly smooth... but after enough seat time they both seem equally smooth for payment

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
Picked up my new Tracer 9 GT on Saturday morning. Had 0.3 miles on the ODO when I left the dealership. It was 42 degrees out so I put 24 miles on it before putting it in the garage. Basically snowed or has been 32 degrees everyday since. Hoping to put some good miles on it this weekend when it is warmer.

I must say the electronic suspension is amazing. I puckered a little as I was expecting a jolt and jostle when I crossed some train tracks a little too fast. Hardly even felt it. Was like I floated right over the bumps. Crazy stuff.

    None... yet.
Motoz seems to consistently get great reviews. Poor guy like me would be happy with the Shinko's! I've been pleasantly surprised at how versatile my 705's have been but I haven't gone anywhere too crazy... except that one time my mountain path turned into baby heads... but I had to quit more because of the bike, not the tires.

Oh, nice! Talked with the wife last night and she wasn't helping re: choosing used over new. Not that I'm complaining! Decided I would look at the XSR 900 as it's 1k cheaper than the MT 09. Like the looks of it better as well.

The new Monster is pretty sweet. My friend sent me a pic of his ride with some epic Spain scenery

When I see the new Monster without the trellis frame, it reminds me of my FZ-07. I can't seem to un-see it.

Yeah I like the old trellis frame too

Madrid, and yes he moved there from Philly last summer! Very interesting and successful guy...

The story how we met is pretty cool. I joined a random motorcycle group on Meetup.com looking for people to ride with. I show up for the first group ride with a handful of strangers and all went well. Started talking to the organizer only to find out he's a VP at my company, and rides his motorcycle to work in Center City everyday!

We went on a few more rides after that, he always had routes well planned with gpx files and was a great lead. Had a Triumph Tiger he sold before the move, and still has the Thruxton R below which he left with a friend rather than taking it with him. That Ducati Monster was waiting for him upon arrival in Spain!

This was the logo for the group, which he designed. (used to work for Marvel comics back in the 80's)

Hmm, name? That was part of my heyday of comic collecting! Finally had to give it up in the mid-90's because my boxes were taking over our apartment. Now it's just graphic and ZA novels...

Oh, also screw MotoMember. Went in, asked to check out their XSR 900, lady had no clue what I was talking about, guy behind her asked if it was one of those retro models. I say "Yes" and she says that it sold last week. Wanted to ask "Then why is it still being advertised on your site?" but knew there was no point. Stayed polite and left... bummed.

The C1X (new model) has a Cafe/Grom vibe to it.

All this time I was looking at groms and now I’m even considering the Chinese knock off (Boom Vader) that I can get locally for $1600 otd. Main difference I see is carburetor vs efi but for what I’d plan on using it for, it should still be prefect.
