@Thatbassguy maybe after this weekend we should get June dates worked out so everyone can work out their schedules. Heck it's only 2 months away!

Hahaha, Dave probably still has dust in some places from that trip.

I have an obligation the 1st weekend. How about we pencil in June 10-12 for a casual Pipeline trip? Maybe camp at BearPaw or somewhere else close. Maybe even primitive camping right on or near the trails..

True! @Pixeltim was you alignment checked after that?

Pulling my rear seats made me realize how much sand gets down into every little nook and cranny! Once you get into the exploring habit, your vehicle might never be truly clean again!

    It's on like Donkey Kong!

Just a weekend of dicking around and checking out the sections of trail we never do. There's some cool areas I've found that we haven't had time for on group outings so far. And, I know @McSpazatron has found some cool spots up there as well!

Questions about this here trail y’all fellers keep talking about (the TWAT or pipe or whatever slang cool hepcats use meowadays):

    1. Do-able with AT 32’s (aside from mud pits), small lift, and sliders/skids?

    2. Primary comms? HAM, GMRS, etc? Yes I know there’s a whole thread in comms stuff but Christ on a cracker ain’t nobody got time for that.

Most of the guys are lifted, full armor and sliders, larger tires and such, but I tag along in my stock Tacoma and handle it quite well too, mostly due to my superior intellect, or some such thing…

The Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail and the Pipeline are different things.

The Trans Wisconsin (T.W.A.T) is doable in a minivan, aside from some areas that get gooey during the spring thaw. It's still a fun ride through some beautiful country!

The Pipeline is a series of forest roads. The "Pipeline" proper is FR55552. It has rocks, mud, sand, gravel, and cool obstacles. Most of the more complicated sections have bypasses.

There are still some holes that have deep water and a mud bottom, so it's recommended to have recovery gear, and a buddy vehicle.

The standard part of the trail is mostly doable with a stock 4×4, but has a few sections that require armor and/or recovery gear.

@Pixeltim put it very well! A driver with patience and good judgement can make it through the Pipeline. Armor is only really necessary in a few of the areas, and they have bypasses.
