Had my truck broken into this morning. They stole the keys to my camper, some quarters, my ARB recovery Kit, and my atlas 46 tool roll packed with tools.

My neighbor has cameras and caught this:

    20220404_121159.jpg
2013-15 DC Tacoma. Steps and tonneau cover. The lady doing the work is pictures here. Red jacket, camo pants, long brown hair and white shoes. I don't want any vigilante justice. A sighting or plate number would be nice though. These folks actually came by for a second pass as I was cleaning up their mess. I recognize the truck...didn't know it was them until I saw these photos. Makes me think I may get another visit soon to steal my roof rack and rummage through my camper...since they have the keys now.

Done dirty by my Tacoma brethren.

Police don't even bother with crime on this level. I'm not sure they would even bother to come out in person for a stolen car. Now if I could find them trying to consign what they stole at a local 4wd shop or on Craigslist I might be able to do something. But that's probably unlikely. Maybe Facebook marketplace but I refuse to deal with that cesspool.

And, yes, camper locks will be replaced.

Duuuuude. Sorry to hear about all of that, it's a lot to deal with and feels terrible. The gas siphoning is unreal, seriously like something out of a Sci-Fi dystopian movie. I can't believe it's come to that. There are generic locking gas caps available for cheap on Amazon, It's not going to stop someone who is bent on getting your gas, but would deter them to at least move onto a different vehicle. Also, wtf is going on in the city of Tacoma in general? I hear about shootings every other day it seems like.

Keep the locks the same, put a a bunch of venomous snakes (don't use rattle snakes as they give a warning) in the bed with something cheap but fancy looking at the front of the bed with random crap between it and the tailgate to make the person crawl over everything... Put a box for something expensive that would normally be put in the bed out by the curb/trash as bait.

There is no such thing as a poisonous snake, and even if there were, where would one procure such things to make this a reasonable idea?

Usually I would say this is why I live out in the sticks but even as far out in the sticks as I live people are getting their homes broken into at night.

Check on Offerup. Its a pretty shady app that doesn't require/verify any personal information to create an account so a lot of stolen stuff usually ends up on there before Facebook or Craigslist.

Good luck and hopefully you can get some of your stuff back and don't have any other issues with these idiots.
