Taco PRO Owners: Interested in a spring upgrade for front?

There are many things that can cause a squeak, but it sounds like you're on the right path to diagnosing the issue. Squeaks can come from various sources, but I've found the best way to diagnose a squeak is to start with what you can see.
* If you haven't had a friend with you to replicate and pin-point the squeak even further, I would start here. If you don't have some one to help, move on.
* Visually inspect the top-hat area for witness marks (places where you can see irregular wear, usually metal to metal contact)
* Look around the isolator pad, and confirm part of the coil isn't making direct contact with the perch or mount. If there is no visible witness marks, you can move on to hardware.
* Check the torque on all the nuts related to the install. Did you get new UCA's? (the pics look OE which is one less thing to squeak) UCA fasteners (bushings and ball joint), Upper mount fasteners (check the three mount bolts AND the shaft nut) LCA Fasteners, etc.

 

My money is on the isolator pad. I had a hell of a time keeping that thing in the hat and aligned right while installing my springs with the death trap spring compressor I used.

 

same, same. All it takes is the tiniest bit of spring rubbing on the mount.

Did you keep the overload in with your AAL?

 

No, I removed the overload. The Headstrong AAL is designed to be used without the factory overload -- if you want additional lift, people have been adding a 1/2 spacer at the bottom of the leaf pack.

 

Considerding this on my 2017 Tacoma Pro with approx 60k miles on it. Not sure if I should swap out the entire suspension or do springs and blocks or AAL. Currenty have have a Leer Cap and trailer hitch mounted on the front if that matters. Anyone install with Eibach block vs. AAL? Also in my last truck I had to install shims are we doing this on the pro? Thanks in advance.

 

I used the block. Eibach will tell you to go ALL if you’re carrying anything with weight back there regularly.

 

OK so I've gone from wanting a lift, to needing a lift. I'm getting a GFC and will be adding additional gear to go along with existing sliders and armor, and my butt is sagging bad already with just some gear and a Diamondback SE cover. So I'm going to be getting some Deaver springs which will be adding rear lift, and rake without a front lift. I do NOT want to change the TRD PRO Fox shocks/struts out, so here we are.

Since I'm not going to go back and read 70+ pages of posts (decided I was "in" on page 13), does anyone know what the lb rating is on these springs? I checked the Eibach site and couldn't find any info. My front end is currently stock, but I'll be adding a hidden winch soon and possibly a battery later. So immediately adding around 80? 90? lbs, and possibly 50 more. Will these handle that OK?

They're rated 650 pounds. In deciding whether I want to add a steel or aluminum bumper, I put 100 pound dumbells above my wheels (50 lbs each wheel) and saw maybe a 1/16" drop. Not sure if that would create a worse nose dive or anything like that, but it's the best I can do for you right now. I'm certain others will have more objective input @skeletron?

Anyone here use the LCA compression method to install these springs? Any issues?

 

oredered mine yesterday and the HS AAL. Anyone running 285's on stock 17 TRD PRO wheels?

 

For a 21 Tacoma Pro, any reason not to run the new springs AND a westcott lift (front) + a 1.5 AAL in the rear? Maybe even the adjustable icon pack in the rear?
