The 3/4" like I sent you takes 77g of carbon fiber nylon. this is with a .12mm layer height and 100 % infill.

this is the stuff I use, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KWVOFD4?ie=UTF8

which at $24.99 / 1000g spool makes the 3d printed dies for light occasional use extremely cost effective.

and if I start to need them more often, well, I just pick this old girl up..

    20220401_173845.jpg

and I am in process of building a small heat treating oven to go along side the 2x72 belt grinder.

Any ideas for a gift for a gardener?

Realized it’s my grandma’s birthday this week and she’s been super supportive of the whole family. Would like to make her something and she’s an avid gardener.

A handmade rake with her kids/grandkids names would be cool.

    Or a vertical garden.

    School Project - Rocket Stove

We learn how to use Draftsight, and learn about creating orthographic drawings.

Everything always drawn to scale, we run through multiple drawings of items we physically measure and create plans for.

So from a blank sheet, we're given a few "must haves" and go from there.

    First things first, assembly -

    20220406_101449.jpg

    Followed by Details -

    20220406_101500.jpg

    Followed by Welding Symbols -

    20220406_101507.jpg

Afterward, cutting the pieces as needed per our own drawings. Not everyone's is the same as a few things are left to us, the designer.

Bend some flat bar, round stock, drill and tap a fitting, and more.

    Of course!

I'll need to hit it with a wire wheel tomorrow, and finish the notches.

Leave it at school to get graded, but yeah I'll be heading to a local store and get some paint.

I could do the usual black, or go with a different color :playball:

If you check out the Details page (2), you'll notice Item E which are the Fire Grates that sit on top in the notches of the Chimney.

A hole gets drilled through each one.

A bolt goes into that 1.5 " x 1.5" block on the side to keep the Fire Grates together with the stove when not in use.

Thinking about some future projects I was looking a spot welders and then stud welders. Why are studwelders so expensive in comparison?? Aren’t they just a spot welder with a special tip to hold the stud? (Looking to weld threaded studs)

Fellow fabricators, I'm seeking some input. I'm modifying a trailer to be as bulletproof off-road as possible, the problem I'm running into is the hitch on my truck is 8" higher than the tongue on the trailer. Now I could easily just get a drop hitch (Lock-n-roll) but that would compromise ground clearance. I'm thinking about cutting wedges out of the tongue to make it angle up then angle back to horizontal, just 8" higher. Opinions?

how much modification are you looking to do? can you bring the frame above the tires? or raise the axel mounting point to where the hitch and receiver are level? do you have any photos of current set up?
