Yep. He said once the drug test and background check comes back we can figure out a start date.
I'll know 100% by Friday. Passing both won't be an issue for me.

I'm going to buy a Harbor Freight tool cart and use that until I get a decent tool box.

It's going to be a chore getting my tools and cart to the new job. I'll be able to use my truck as a truck. Only the second time since buying it. First time was to pick up a desk for my sister.

I've seen guys hire a flatbed tow truck to move their tool chest(s). Doesn't sound like you've got that crazy a collection yet.

 

I sold my tool box after hurting my back and not being able to work on cars, no place to store it. I still have most of my tools.

Passed the drug test, waiting for the background check. I should have a result tomorrow and decide on a start date.

Now my old tech job sent me a text asking me to come back. I declined because I already accepted the new position.

The new job's shop is cleaner, a big plus in my book. Pay/benefits are about the same.

 

Happiness, peace, piece of mind is worth more than any paycheck.

 

Exactly. If I went back I would feel as I never left and who knows what the new job will bring?

 

Just for funsies, try asking if they're willing to sweeten the pot. Even if you have no intention of going, just have a little fun..or maybe they just somehow give something you can't refuse

This go around I am not spending a ton of money on tools (Matco, Mac, Snap On).
