So finally settled on an optic. I ordered the Bushnell 4-16x44 Engage series optic. It's second focal plane so I can see the reticle at lower magnification, non illuminated, MOA reticle and turrets. The turrets are locking and rezeroable. Side focus from 20 yards to infinity. It's been a long time since I bought a Bushnell for myself and will sy they have come a long long way. The glass is super clear and brite and the fast focus eyepiece let me clear up the effects of my astigm. The mount should be here tomorrow and I guess we will see how it works.

Eventually I plan on adding a green RMR to the mount but first things first

I really hope so. I've put a good bit of work and thinking into this I just hope it pans out. I've shot the rifle already and it ran smooth and issue free granted i only ran 1 box through it so far.

My LGS has just about priced themselves out of my business

Some are getting geedy. I understand they are running a business but still sometimes a $150-200 markup is excessive on a $500 item

Very true. I can go to another store and make a purchase and pay the transfer and still save money over there price. It is beyond stupid

This one isn't too bad for what I buy. I only buy small stuff from them as they don't have Aero, Radian, or Elftmann. I mainly buy my grips(Magpul K2+) as they are only $1 more. I can also grab them that day and don't have to wait on shipping :D

The pistol gas tube I'm going to get is $16 there. I'm sure I could find it cheaper, but this is in stock.....so I am willing to pay a bit more for convenience :D

I been going to the same LGS here 30+ years and they could do better on price but they blame it on Academy Sports for the high prices. And Academy is cheaper than they are. I will drive over to Alabama and do my shopping at another family owned gun store

My LGS is actually priced very competitive.
My 19x as good as anything I could find online
Wife's S&W 9mmez $100 less then many others advertised including PSA
    Her vp9sk market price.
My 365 cheaper than many popular online retailers

Ammo has remained in line with most reasonably priced sellers maybe $1 per box more

My LGS is pretty competitive for parts, etc, but ammo is right out. Used guns, they are my go-to shop, very competitive. New guns, it's hit or miss.
