I wish that was the case for me... I was stuck in First Aid / CPR training all day. 8 hours of my life I'll never get back (I do believe the training is beneficial, but the 2 year expiration is a little much IMO)

With the online trainings that I can rip through to the end and 'test out', that's what I normally do. This one was in person. He was a good trainer, but it still took 7 hours.

Not ideal of course. Part of it at least is they need to see you have the ability to do it physically such as the chest compressions.

I am not a buyer as most things are 3rd Gen and what isn't that I could use has been snatched up. But I did want to pass along positive thoughts and deep respect Jared. You have put in a lot of work already with a ton more to go. It is a good cause and very much in the spirit that Rick exuded while here on TW.:hattip:

SP Crater yesterday and this AM. I have some dashcam footage running some desert roads in a closed and permitted area nearby that I'll stitch together and post later. No audio but I wish I had remembered to turn it on so you could hear when the dashboard magic beeped around some of the corners at speed.
    Before run:

    After run:

Flow field Northwest of the crater. Old eruption but still super visible thanks to desert climate.
    IMG_20220406_101536.jpg

Awesome volcanics around and in the crater:
    IMG_20220406_094250.jpg
    IMG_20220406_112920.jpg

Climbed around in the crater all day, did some soil surveys in the area, and scooted to GC. Would have rather stayed at SP, GC is already crammed to the gills with people.

I voted for one of the fancier ones (had a nice drawing of the Newport bridge), but I am guessing it would be too expensive to make .

It's just a screen press they all cost the same to make.

I laughed when I saw the new design. You'll never be able to tell whether the car has the new or old design.

RI is a unique place - a LOT of people take the registration stickers and put them elsewhere on the plates. I am guessing it's to show off how long they've been here and they're not some transplant - they're a REAL Rhode islaner??? Seems odd.

Anyway. Yeah the new design gave me a chuckle. Peak Rhode island. "were gonna change something!!!!" "Welllllllllllll"

Your right, it would cost the same to make, but I can/can't believe people would pick something so close to the plate we have now, but the state is filled with old people and they really don't like change...

The registration sticker thing is a big problem, since it is technically illegal to put them all over your plate. I have heard from a couple old timers when we told them to order new plates due to the stickers/paint peeling off "how else is the state gonna know how long I have had the plate for?!". Sir, the state doesn't care!

I don't even understand how that plate made it into the finals. You can't tell me that of the 900+ submissions, that there wasn't another design better than that one. I submitted 3 that were better than that one

That is better. But you’re a dirty masshole now so get your crap and get out. We don’t want your like down here anymore.

We can’t have OUR license plate designed by someone NOT FROM RHODE ISLAND. Now have a cabinet yous guys.

    Shenanigans all around.

I was at a bar in Boston, BOSTON, and gansett was 6 bucks a can. Bananas. I was in DC about 5 years ago, we were at the bar waiting for a table or something I was like F it, I’ll have a ganset. 9 bucks a can. They market it as some sort of foreign fancy “not from around here” beer.

6 bucks for a 6 pack of tall boys - the Rhode Island way. :)

At least it isn't New York. They had peeling problems with one plate design, then moved to the awful yellow plates that had the same problem. Third time's a charm I guess?

The standard MA plate is pretty boring, but I think we have some of the best looking specialty plates.

I am, as of late, quite grumpy about the specialty plates in RI.

RI classes ALL trucks as Combo, regardless of if it’s a tacoma or a pooper duty. ALSO the maverick, the new hyundai abomination, etc. If it has a BED, it’s a truck - then gets combo plates. I’m assuming a subbie baja would also be the same.

Anyway, point is, COMBO plates are not qualfiied for the charity plates. So, the wildlife plates, the osprey plates, etc. you just can’t get. If you have a truck, on combo plates, in RI, you can ONLY get the wave plates - and cannot get the radio operator plates either.

Don’t get me wrong, the wave and the new wave are fine plates, I have no objection to them, but I was hoping to get the wildlife plates. Shenanigans.
