Wondering if I should be looking into these old Rockwell or Craftsmen drill presses from the 70's or consider something newer since my usage will be limited to maybe once or twice a month?

For that kinda thing I like to buy from HF, they're cheap and robust enough that limited use items give you the best bang for the buck. And if it doesn't really do what you want or breaks too quickly it's not such a sting when you need to buy a better one.

I only say that cause my biggest concern on a drill press from the 70s is if any of the belt pulleys are wallered out

Yeah it seems like an extra headache to me. Maybe if you were taking a whole family? But still...

Looking for the right pulleys would suck....yeah.

It's just those old ass drill presses run forever, but you're right. It's why I stated my limited use; trying to be honest with myself.

So the question then becomes...table top or free standing?

@CS_AR I'm actually going to try and sell a bunch of my stuff. I'm over camping on this coast. Don't think a trailer would help that haha.

at the butcher shop I worked at years ago, the owner had a meat grinder in the fridge that was from the 30s or 40s...thing was ancient.

I stupidly put one of the blades on backward my first time using it (doh), broke it, and he never could find the part for it. Company had long since come and gone. He was so pissed at me lol. He ended borrowing one from his competition shop across town and had to eventually get one custom made for it.

Going to hit my unit the next couple weeks and see what I can clear. I have the FrontRunner boxes packed with stuff in there and then a shelving unit with stuff. Most might be cost prohibitive to ship but some stuff wont be. Some camp kitchen stuff, stoves/JetBoil etc. Stuff like that.
