Got my production number for the car, so its locked in, apparently for a May build, which would be nuts and I don't expect that to be the case, but still...

Don't necessarily need one, and like Jimmie said, what if I need to replace a pulley or worse?

I'll just go HF for one.

    I mean, afterall -

I got the $120 one and its good but I would get a bigger one next time do I can drill cases and shit. The stand up is the way to go. Its not cheap at HF though.

FWIW I got a modern Craftsman press and for infrequent use its great. I think for a heavy shop with daily use I'd go $$, but its been good so far for my (admittedly) lighter duty uses.

Yeah the cheap ones work fine for me too. I just don't like that I can only press stuff that is like 8" high I think. Otherwise I have to swing the table out and its hard to clamp stuff on the open deck.

i've drilled a bunch of 1/4" plate with an 8" craftsman benchtop drill press from the 90s that I bought for $15 at a garage sale, just had to take it easy on the pressure and use enough oil

Luckily I haven't had to go over 8" but I get that being an issue. (I guess it also depends on what your drilling.)
