Your wife must be a genius because great minds think alike! And we both love you dearly, Brother!

The hottie red was more me anyway. You'll blend in with the amateur anglers more at boat ramp in that darker color. The fish are already on the hook!

This is exactly what I want (and in my price range), but can't find easily. Good find Lloyd!

Very nice! I suggest getting that timing belt done if it hasn't been already.

That reeks of marketing BS trumping engineering recommendations.

"If we put it in the 100k with all the other stuff then it'll be expensive and customers will find places to go other than the Subaru dealership service department" "okay 105k it is"

When I bought my Altima new in 2002, the 100k mi extended warranty cost nearly 1200 to finance. At 104k the tranny was shot and it was regurgitating cat waste to the point where it was scoring the cylinder walls. Nissan told me to pound sand. I got 2700 for it as is. Left it at the shop.

Yeah. The used car market is inflated right now. But Toyotas and Hondas are ridiculously inflated.

You are talking to the master. Wise father of @fatfurious2. I taught him all he knows about the great outdoors. And he didn’t start with much :)

Of course I did my research.

I went a similar route, found an 09 Forester with a 5 spd and 78k miles. I’ve had it a year (St. Patrick’s Day) and put 35k on it and not my truck! AD02A9BA-04E4-440D-A740-616CD3C94037.jpg

i should find another beater. I sold my 2000 Honda Civic after doing a head gasket, and that wasnt the issue. I think when i put a paperclip to jump the fan switch, i bent one of the pins in the plug. So the buyer got my 22 year old car that got 25mpg, for $1300. And my dreams of owning an antique DD also went.

For now, going to daily drive my truck on my 2.6 mile commute to work. On nicer days, ill take my motorcycle, which gets 49mpg. Im still debating on the next beater, but i have 2 choices. If anything, i should probably get my fat ass on a bicycle so i can attempt to be healthy too

Oof. That's a long commute. Mine is half that.

    :boink:

I'm the bone head that's seriously considering an electric car so I don't constantly cycle the engine and not get it up to temp.

Thats a big pet peeve that my wife doesn't get. I warm up the truck for 7-8 min so the temp needle starts moving, then i drive through 1 light and 3 stop signs through a neighborhood, and im at work. Turn it off for 10 hours. Its killing me slowly inside haha. But i go on longer drives on the weekends to burn off the stuff that doesn't get burned during the week. I feel bad that shes not getting much use, but maybe its ok for now. Better than sitting all week?

I have a 2012-ish Specialized Rockhopper that i ride to an air up station behind my house, about once per month. Kinda want to get a road bike, but I might look silly on it

Sorry I know this thread is off topic now.

At this time of year I get home and then take the dog out almost daily. That usually warms it up so it's not terrible. But some of them cold months I could see it being a solid month of not getting up to temp.
