I swear by EVGA and have been eyeing a 3080 but my 1080 still performs really well. I do have the urge to waste some money tho

I’m entertained. I love the idea of building one, but don’t NEED to do that. Shoot me a pm with what you’ve got, how much you’re asking, etc and I’ll let you know!

My spot in the EVGA queue got called for a 08G-P5-3667-KL 3060 Ti FTW3 GPU. MSRP $539.99 and after taxes and shipping it was going to come to $600ish.

    https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=08G-P5-3667-KL

I already have a 3060ti in my computer, so I'm not going to purchase. Anyone interested? I think I need to purchase by the end of today, if so.

Hope you sent that to them before even posting it here...not sure what they were thinking when getting it ready for shipping.

Haven't had time yet to tear apart (now) 4 old computers, there might be a 5th somewhere in storage plus the 2 my son has.
Monster mashup happening in about a month.

    Yeah.
What is sad is that when they get them back unopened, they will likely just restock them and re-sell them. They might be fine, might fail immediately, might fail within the warranty period, who knows. But - they will eventually fail.

Never watched this guy's channel before. I guess he ordered a board from NE, never opened the box, or even the shipping box. He did a RMA for the product saying "no longer needed". The declined his RMA stating damage to the product. I guess somehow a previous customer damaged it, returned it, and it still ended up in stock as an open box item. Seems a lot of people were facing this issue along with items arriving poorly packaged.

I love listening to Steve's vids though to be honest I rarely *watch* them.

They're just informative enough to learn new things, just technical enough to tune out in traffic or when working on a project, and just sassy enough to get a sensible chuckle from time to time.

Also he's tech Jesus, then there's Ian as gun Jesus, who's truck Jesus? Matt?

Im gonna build another PC this summer :D

This time its for college. My major, and perhaps my future career, will require a pretty good computer. The department has some crazy standards that my computer will have to meet to run all the systems smoothly. All parts combined is at $2.5k now lmao. I might go ahead and buy a GPU now before they disappear forever

    Yeah.
I've used both that case and a Corsair 4000D -- the Corsair is a MUCH better case for the money.

If you're planning on running something that will use all the 12900K cores the U12 won't cut it. MY NH-D15 couldn't keep my 12700K cool when I would let it do any Folding@Home or other multicore intensive tasks.

Also I second that the NZXT case is a bad choice for cooling. Even the new version with the open front panel doesn't leave enough room inside the case for good airflow.

Anyone know of someone whom takes commissions on making custom reservoirs and distro plates?

Who plays games on a laptop, I'm not a PC gamer, but I would think you would want a desktop with large monitors. And $11k?.......:brianr:

I mean for a couple years I was in a more... fluid living situation, and having my preferred 100lb tower and triple monitor setup just wasn't an option period.

But that said my laptop only cost a whopping 3k.

    :notsure:
