Did Clazzio change their warranty from 5 years to 3? I’m almost certain that when I got mine they had a 5 year warranty, it was one of the reasons why I went with them….

They must have just changed it. Sounds like the bolsters wear out after 3 years and before the 5 year mark so I guess the warranty will be almost worthless…

Has anyone installed the seat heaters? Is it easy? Trying to decide if I should order them. I'm not mechanically inclined and can't find a video showing them being installed..

You stick them to the underside of the seat bottom and seat back. Then route the wire through to under the seat. That part isn't hard. You can trim as desired but since no hog rings, no real need to trim.

The only "hard" parts are selecting your source for power. Most aftermarket seat heater kits have an ignition switched power input, a +12v battery input, and a ground. That allows you to use a higher current source like a direct battery tap for power since seat heaters can draw significant current. You may not want to run them off 20 gauge wire and many interior circuits are fused below what seat heat might need.

The other potential headache is the seat heat switch location. Some kits have round holes you drill in dash trim which I don't love. Plenty of kits with small Toyota style switches.

The switches themselves are where I'm the most dissatisfied. The dial ones are green and the OEM ones I got are also green, so I had help hacking them to blue but I have yet to install or figure out the pinouts properly. The integrated dual climate system is superior in this regard, though I don't necessarily trust Toyota's power relay for seat heat, seems like it has a host of melting problems.

TLDR, not easy but not hard, you need to be prepared to suffer if you want it nice or pay someone if you want it done quickly or just get it done if you aren't super picky.

It is halfway worthwhile to have the heater pads ready with the wire and connectors under the seat even if you don't get them wired up immediately. Saves the trouble of removing them to install later on.

Thank you for all the info! I called an audio installation store by me, and they want $450 each seat to install either the Toyota or the Clazzio seat heaters. $900 is steep! If I do it, I may have them just do the driver's seat. The wiring is the part that sounds like I'll screw up.

You can use POUTLET1 with add a fuse for ignition. That part doesn’t suck a lot of juice. Then a thicker 10-12 gauge to the battery with a fuse. Or the trailer brake controller connector if you don’t have electric brakes. A Tacoma cable for RedArc / Tekonsha is about $20. Then any existing ground bolt, kick panel is easiest.

You can save a bunch of that cost but you’ll just trade it for time.

Dude, don't even! You got this!
I installed a set back in January and it's not that big of a deal. It seems extensive due to panel removals to run the wiring but with the premade wire harnesses, connections are pretty elementary and one of the biggest issues is just simply hiding the excessively long harness. You'll pull the center console, the lower dash where the phone charger is, I shit-canned mine while I was in there and removed the switch, then an upper dash panel comes out. After doing once, I can fly in there and have all that shit out inside of 10 minutes it's that easy once done.

I can lay some photos on you that might help when you roll.

I have a Power Tray on my '21 and ran a heavy gauge power lead into the the cab for the heaters and then did a fuse tap chingadera where the sunroof fuse should go since I have no sunroof. That is ignition wired and is signal or "triggers" the relay to turn them both on. In my case, I bought a Meso center panel and my heat switches are Toyota style small switches on the far ends. Pretty clean install.

Short of that, bring it to me and I'll do it for you!

I just ordered my Clazzio's last night after looking at this thread again! Can't wait!

Depending on your location, a member here can wire it for you. If you’re in SOCal you’re in luck. You just have to install the seat covers and heater yourself and leave the wiring to those who know what they’re doing. A small mistake might be a big throbbing headache for you.(Christmas tree lights on your dash etc)

I may give it a try. Looking up videos on how other model heaters were in stalled! Thank you for your help.

They look identical to the eBay units I bought and installed so whatever you find online will likely be the same.

I ordered my Clazzios last night. Apparently they ship from SoCal and FedEx will have them on my doorstep tomorrow morning around 9 a.m. That's nuckin' futz! Didn't expect that!

Long time lurker in this thread, but finally "bit the bullet" and got the Clazzio seat covers. I am thoroughly impressed - the quality in these seat covers are wayyyy better than I expected, even after reading (at least 1/4 of) this thread. Thanks all.
