Let's See Your Dogs!!

Allergy season has hit Kane in a bad way this year. He atarted chewing the shit out of himself over the weekend. Skin was suddenly dry. Went to the vet today. He has pill, a spray, ear drops, and got a shot. Poor guy was miserable. Already though, 2 hours later and he is way better. Anyone have a dog with allergies like that? Any good suggestions?

He has been allergy tested and all sorts of stuff after i rescued him. Gets fish oil on his food. Gets great food too. Seems like its just something to manage.

 

I hope you get things straightened out. It looks almost like eczema.

He was itching so bad, he broke the skin. Thats all scabs and bruises, swelling.

He is amazingly already way better. But shit, felt bad for him.

My bully had something very similar. Besides all the medications provided by the vet, I rubbed coconut oil on his coat and the scabs and that made a huge difference. I just put a small amount in my hands, it quickly melts, then massaged it into his coat. I hope your boy gets better.

 

Coconut oil is mentioned often when it comes to skin issues. Sometimes, as an add to a meal and sometimes as applied directly. I’ve never tried applying it directly.

Bathing too frequently is another cause. I guess the soap dries out the skin. Not bathing did the most good.

 

Brewing some strong black tea letting it cool and then spraying on “hot spots” or other skin issues has worked for many of our family pups.

 

I don't even get to touch this dude when he sleeps. But his baby sister can crawl all over him. I see how it is dude!

 

A major reason for purchasing my Tacoma was to be able to spoil my pup with better adventures.
