And never an audit? Seems like he may have been BSing writing all of that through his business.

As I once heard. "Don't blame the player, blame the game" It's not his buddy's fault, he was just playing the game afforded to him by our piece of shit's in the federal gov't. You do know there are a ton of loopholes in the tax system. Play smarter not harder.

Not complaining about it at all- putting jet skis through your business is an easy red flag, not exactly wild to think about

Finally got my ETA after being built more than a month ago. Looking like it’s hitting my dealer between 4/12-4/14. Coming straight to AZ on a truck.

Yeah, I mean unless your business uses jet ski's in its operations (jet ski tours or other recreational watercraft) I can see that getting flagged for an audit.
Putting a truck or two on a business that has occasional equipment movement makes sense though.

Vehicle was built in mid February, a week behind schedule. Delivered to dealership 4/2, picked up Tuesday. No good pictures yet.

also, these trucks have come a long way in 20 years. Same familiar truck but with all the new whiz bang features.

Got my truck today. Shoutout to Toyota of Laramie for making it a smooth process without surprises.

2/19 - Called around so many dealers without luck. Found the 'Tundra Dealerships Selling at MSRP' spreadsheet. Made a list of the ones in neighboring states to me. Started filling out contact forms online, letting them know what I was looking for and asking to please let me know if they have any allocations come across.

By the third contact, the second had contacted me back - the exact truck I wanted. DCLB, Army Green, Premium with Tech Package. Had some extras could take or leave, but nothing too expensive. Put deposit down same day. Dealer gave temporary vin, build date, and estimate of 'early April.'

3/11 Was the build date provided

3/15 Temporary VIN stopped working. Text from dealer updated ETA to mid-April

3/19 Permanent VIN showed up on dealer website. Signed up for the Toyota app.

3/27 - Mileage and gas started showed up, but the update was from 3/15. Not sure why they took so long to sync, but I suspect this is when it crossed into the US.

    3/28 - 3 Miles on ODO

    3/28 - V-Spec Finally started showing an ETA - 4/8-4/13, next day was 4/5-410

3/30 - Eta changed to 4/4-4/9 and stayed steady there for awhile.

4/6 - 1 Mile added, 'G' status in VSPEC at 3am. Delivered to dealer at 6am.

4/8 - Picked up my pickup

Thanks for all the details and timing. This helps to give some kind of an expectation for delivery window for those of us with build dates but no ETA. Obviously it varies based on location. Great looking truck!

Well, the rumored production delay has arrived in Hawaii as well! Truck was supposed to be built this month, now pushed to July production. Since the dealer here can actually specify what vehicles they get, I requested a TRD OR 4x4 6MT MGM with premium/advanced tech/LED on 3 Jan. Salesman said it was the premium package that pushed the production, not sure if that is true or not. Bummer for sure.

Well, it finally showed up on Wednesday afternoon. Picked it up yesterday in the pouring rain. Took it slow on the way home. But this afternoon, coming home from work was awesome.
I didn't beat it up, but it was fun ride home. Coming from a 17 VW Jetta GLi to this is going to be something I have to adjust to. But, I'll be just fine. Can't wait to see what fun I'm going to have with this
truck. I didn't get the moonroof, JBL, or heated seat option. One because I'm cheap, and two I was afraid it would take longer than it did.

    2022 Tacoma TRD Sport DCSB.
    Ordered (Allocated) on Jan. 26
    Built: February 22
    Delivered: April 7
Neither myself or the salesmen know what took so long, but we are both under the impression that it may have been part(s) for the rear cross traffic alert. He said they had 2 other Tacomas that are/were having
the same delay. Both of which were allocated a week or two after me.
Is it me, or does my truck sort of resemble a Ford Explorer Sport Trac?

Idk what you’re talking about it taking so long… mine built 3/4 arriving next week… seems similar to me?

Nice, looks fairly similar to what mine should be minus the roof rails. I originally wanted a leather interior but a test drive told me that I couldn't have a moonroof for headroom reasons, so I had to give up the leather, which in my case probably sped things up since I could get a truck that is supposedly almost here.

Your build/delivery dates give me an idea of what my timeline might be.

    Placed deposit on 1/23.
They told me the build date was 3/29.
Haven't heard anything about a VIN so far. I'm in NW Indiana, so I guess there's no telling when it might show up... Makes me wonder if they might sell it out from under me for more $ and say "we don't know what's taking so long". Congrats on your truck!:headbang:

Thank You. I had the same fear that they would sell it and I told them so. Both he and his sales manager promised me that they wouldn't. They said it wouldn't be good business practice. So I guess I misjudged this dealership.
The salesmen even sent me 3 pictures of it. One coming off the transporter, one while it was being prepped (PDI) and one with the "SOLD" tag in it.

I don't know what made me keep the roof rails. They had one (already sold) the day I "ordered" and it just looked good to me. Hey, now I can recreate the scene from National Lampoons Vacation and put Aunt Edna on the roof.

Is a SR5 considered relatively mundane compared to other trim levels? Aunt Edna wasn't too aerodynamic, was she...:D

Similar situation here, put my deposit down on 1/22, but my sales guy never told me a build date.
I wanted a Fully loaded Sport in Blue Crush
Last week they tried to see if I was interested in a used 2021 limited for $5k over my budget. They did get a fully loaded Sport in Lunar Rock but it was listed as reserved.
I'm a bit livid with my sales guy after 3 months of pretty much no updates from him. I told him just give me ANY fully loaded Sport as long as it's not in white, any fully loaded off-road as long as it's not in white, any limited that doesn't have any add ons like nightshade edition.

    Super frustrating experience.
