I don’t think it’s the injector. Pop the number 1 coil and see if the tip is covered in oil and you’ll know the spark plug tube gaskets are toast

 

That wasn't the case literally a week ago; #1 coil was burnt, but there was no sign of oil. For only $40 I will buy the part so I can be prepared for when my mechanic opens it up to replace the injector. Also, the OBD2 code reader is showing a misfire in cylinder #1; That was the case a week ago as well...

 

In a way, I'm glad you had another CEL come on. Allowed you to hone in on the issue further. Hopefully it's a straightforward fix, whether it is the injector or the valve cover and tube gaskets.

 

That's what I'm thinking; Truck also needs a cam cover gasket as it it slowly weeping oil from that area. The gasket is only $25 and my mechanic really gives me a deal on labor, plus it isn't as urgent as certain other gaskets so I am waiting until the next oil change at 150K miles.

 

Well that’s good news that it’s centralized to cylinder 1 still. I think it’s a high percentage that it is the injector. Don’t let anyone scare you yet

Found more of those receipts in the attic today, hard to imagine it took 7 months to pay off 50 bucks.

Dropped my friend off at Seven Wraps to get his wife's Corvette; We dropped it off to get new stripes applied, as the previous ones were bubbling...

Last Corvette I was in was a 2001 ZO6
It was my dad’s. It was nice. But I wouldn’t want to drive it all the time.

 

At my old job the plant CEO had a corvette, the problem was he was a good 350 - 400 pounds! Watching him try to get in and out of it was something, it was a several minute experience.

 

Theirs is a 2005 with 42K miles; Automatic because though both husband and wife can drive stick, they are both in their 70s and don't want to anymore.

 

Friend's wife has a valid license and is perfectly safe to drive, but she is 78 and has severe arthritis; It is actually very uncomfortable for her to drive at all so she just doesn't, which is why I took my friend to pick it up. He insisted on giving me $20 for gas, and I got inside the shop and take pictures, so I scored big time!

 

Was gonna guess mid 2000s..friend of mine had a 04 like that

I got the truck back today; My mechanic performed a few tests and couldn't replicate problem. Even doing an OBDII scan didn't bring up any issues. He replaced the injector, and the truck runs better. However, today after I saw Sonic the Hedgehog 2 with my friend, the truck misfired for like a millisecond and the ran normally. The CEL has not come back on since my mechanic made it go out Thursday. I'm thinking that what I experienced today were the rattles and shakes of a 12-year old truck with almost 150K miles, and not a sign of anything bad.

 

Almost forgot to mention; I had a "Symmetry!" moment while driving to one of many car shows over the weekend!

 

Hopefully just a fluke
