What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Tried out the cerakote trim coat on the doors. Gonna do the rest of the interior plastic and any exterior plastic later this weekend. I should have looked beforehand if the door trim was the same shade as the dash but the pictures say it all.

 

Ooof. How do you take the actual mirror out to do it the other way then?

 

Installed 12-15 oem led tail lights, Tinted them myself after getting quoted 200 bucks to do it.... also had some material left over so I did my turn signals on my mirrors. I'll be upgrading to the blacked out sequential ones anyway. It's not perfect but it cost me 25 bucks in materials and I can live with the results. Funny thing is, I think my Diode Dynamcs led brake lights were brighter.

 

Dasaita. Had it for about a year now. It works. definitely has its quirks but I mainly use it for apple Carplay which it’s perfect for.

 

basically what he said. His post from a few pages back encouraged me to buy them. If you push the mirror around a bit you can see the tabs that hold the painted cap on. Use a trim tool or screwdriver or something to carefully push the tabs in while pulling the cap off from the outside. Only took a few minutes per mirror.

 

Had mine on for 20k miles and about 3 years. Still works great.

 

I've had mine on for 55K miles and 5 years. No problem.

 

I did something very similar on mine.

Today my Tacoma towed another boat.

 

I got my new Meso map lights and figured I'd install my switch panel to see what I all need to do.

 

Drained and filled the radiator’s and engine block’s coolant. Truck is coming up on seven and a half years old so figured it was due. Cost me $40 in fluid and a couple hours of time.

Not today, but a couple of weeks ago I managed to get out on a group ride with the new toy. The 4 cylinder does alright towing, but there’s no mistaking it’s back there!

lol, you guys and your license plates. I saw the tundra on Instagram had “tow” in there

 

So I installed a bird dawg mirror riser today, which is cool now that its up higher. But I noticed it was some wiggle/play at the top in the up and down motion. I wedged something up in there to keep it from wiggling, but has anyone else had this?

 

I don't have one but I think some people use double sided tape between it and the glass.
