Polyurethane bushing grease

Most polyurathane bushing kits come with install grease which is silicon based, generally with PTFE (teflon) additive.
Suspension.com did a comparison on greases for poly bushings.

There's only a few silicon based + PTFE that I can find (most tested by the above comparison):

• Prothane (grease gun size avail)
• Energy Suspension (singles and small tube)
• SuperPro (singles)
• Daystar (singles and 3oz tube for mini guns)
• $29 Super Lube 92150 Silicone Lubricating Grease with PTFE, 14.1 oz Cartridge, Translucent White, Onе Paсk
  Super Lube 92150 (grease gun size avail)

You can pretty much easily find the mini single use packs and small tubs in all of those which are totally fine for assembly but only a few of grease gun tube size that you'd need to keep lubing them up on the regular. From what I can tell, the grease gun size (14oz) tubes are about 50 dollars

So for those with grease zerks on your bushings what are you using? Is 50$ just a normal part of the LT tax or ?

Copy that. I guess I've just got a little bit of sticker shock going on. Was *not* expecting a tube of grease, even high faloot'in stuff to be 50 bucks.

 

Probably last a lifetime though because you're not gonna be using it all that much.

For $35 I would at least attempt at getting a way to put this in a grease gun - are you planning on greasing your bushings all the time? Most good grease would last the same time as other consumables for weekend warriors unless you're in salt.

Yeah, I’ve got one of those little tubs for assembly, it might be worth it to see if I can put it in a mini gun or something.

Not in salt really but I do live in Moab so there’s no malls to flex at

 

It’ll be interesting to see if you get some squeaking prior to the time where swapping uniballs and / or bushings requires full prep anyway. Unless you’re always in water crossings, wet conditions, or salt (which you just said you weren’t on that one), I wonder if dust will ever penetrate the bushings or the bushings will deflect enough to wipe away the grease from one spot.

These greases are Silicone based. Silicon is an element and in it's elemental state is a solid rock like material. Silicone (Organic Silicone, in this case) is a long chain flexible polymer. Yes, Silicone is Silicon based, but the greases are Silicone based.
