My Katzkins quote was $1800 for an AC - YMMV since it’s installer based but I did the Clazzios myself for $360 soooooo…..

That’s very encouraging. I like that’s it’s quality stuff and a DIY install. The cost savings is huge especially these days with the cost of everything seeming to go sky high! I usually have some visits when the neighbors see me tinkering or with the hood up too…nice to have the added hands sometimes!

Ocean and high desert with a huge mountain range in between them. It’s awesome to explore. Great place for outdoors and a ton of opportunity to get off the grid and escape society for a bit.

Wow!!! I haven’t gotten a quote yet but was planning too. I’ll probably just go with the Clazzios. Seems it’s the best budget option but not giving up quality at the same time

Ah, I would probably go all black or possibly black and gray…but if it’s that long of a wait i would probably stick with all black!

The Clazzio thread has a lot of great pics- I was going to go black/dark gray (it’s exactly the cement color in Tacos) until the wait as well, went all dark gray and got it in 3 days ha

Sounds great. Looking forward to it. May have to hit you up on places to go visit before I head out that way. They just bought a 2019 jeep so I will have a 4 wheel drive vehicle to use when I fly out there.

Anytime! There’s a ton of great spots to go. Conquest Overland on YouTube is in the area and spends a ton of time on the peninsula over by the Kingston area. Give you a great idea of the terrain.

Sorry to jump in here but I lived all over Washington, including being stationed in Bangor and PSNS and Kingston is really far from Tacoma... I realize you were probably joking, but it's at least a good 2 hours so yeah, probably not the best place to live for them...haha. Kingston is a cool little town though and its where the DSVs are stationed, well at least one of them.

I was under the impression they’re going to live in Kingston and work on the naval station up there. I was encouraging living in Kingston if working on the naval station not living in Kingston and working in Tacoma or vise versa. Sorry if that got lost in the message. Kingston is a drive for sure from Tacoma.

Did the same as @roboturner. Looked at all of the options but they had all black in stock so I went that direction. Had them in hand in a few days.

Yeah usually simple is better in the end. Besides, if I ever swap tacomas I can take the covers with me and black would be more universal

Yeah $5 a gallon gets expensive real quick on a commute like that!

Yeah I realize it's not close and would be a bad commute. I was just giving my Daughter a hard time about the name Tacoma which I do every chance I get...lol
