That will adjust the star wheel on the drums (move drum shoes closer to drum hat) not the parking brake itself.

Correct, and in doing that the shoes should not have to move as far to contact the drums.
Shouldn't that help the parking brake also?

And then a little adjustment on the E-brake cable under the truck or on the. E-brake handle its self

I don't know about the tacoma, but the parking brake usually has a separate set of "shoes" or pads. It's been a while since I've done it, but some have a clockwise or counterclockwise adjustment on the cable itself.

Yea Ive had a few cars like that.
In his pic it looks like one set of shoes.

Could always put the rear axle on stands, spin the wheels by hand and adjust them till they drag a little.....

No difference for you is interesting. Big difference on my truck. Hmmmm
I can block the plate lights so there is no shine. Camera changes purely with the headlight switch, has nothing to do with the plate lights.
    Wonder why yours doesn't?

Oh well. We've beat this horse to death. I appreciate that you shared what happens on your truck. Cheers for all of that.

(I'll just continue to turn off my headlights with the switch when backing up. It's easy & free. And my DRL are still on (& fogs if I need them) so others can see me.)

Hmmm... Do you have the light sensor on the passenger side dash tweeter area? Maybe it's the radio display going into night mode from the headlight switch? Mine dims and brightens based on that light sensor rather that the headlight switch position. Just a thought, there are so many little differences between trim packages.

What research led you to the rci over the cbi ones? You don’t think aluminum aftermarket skids are good enough? I watch LLOD who offroads a lot and said steel isn’t worth it for weight considerations

rotated tires changed oil threw out the old air freshener.
https://www.industrialmetalsupply.com/documents/Aluminum sheet vs. Steel sheet stiffness.pdf

then there is the $$$$ thing...
One has to question the import of "worth the weight" when off playing in place one doesn't need to go.

    Play has it's costs.

We live in an aluminum age.

    COOL Stuff I can't afford . . . But I bought anyway!
one set of shoes per side. I adjusted the star wheel out as far as I could and still get the drum on before. But it just doesn’t want to hold like it used to.

CBI is more expensive and aluminum is too soft, I don’t want something expensive that I will have to replace when it gets damaged.
