Heading over to a friends this morning to guide him through framing out a basement. Luckily its an 80% completed basement and all we have to do is a room and a closet. Thanks to local building code, we have to go through the hassle of a floating wall... o_O

Just found this thread. Got one improvement coming up soon, but supplies came in. 3 pallets of shingles delivered. Forgot to put the hip&ridge in the order, so I'll be making my Tacoma do a little work getting the 3 bundles that I need.

Anybody installed vinyl tile in a bathroom? Looks like a newer product with not many reviews. I love the vinyl plank I’ve installed in the house and I think this will be an awesome alternative to tile. Mainly because I can install it myself and not have to learn tile haha

We did. Originally planned on a large format ceramic tile in this same pattern but on one of the thousands of trips to HD we happened to walk by this sign and figured it was meant to be. 20210619_084920.jpg

Have only had it in for a few months but I have really liked it so far. Dont have any great pictures of the floor itself but here are a couple of the finished bathroom.

    Just getting started.
After installing bamboo flooring in our house (glue down to the concrete slab downstairs, nail down upstairs) we've been looking at tile for the bathrooms and kitchen. I didn't know that vinyl Smartcore product existed, and looks like a great product (from the photos). I'll need to run over to Lowes to take a closer look. Thanks for posting that.

Here are some shots of the flooring I installed, CaliBamboo T&G.

That looks great! Thanks for the feedback. I’m a ways away from flooring still but just getting our ducks in a row.

So I had the original 26 year old washing machine shut off valves replaced about a year ago, but when I did the drywall repair after I guess I didn't tighten the hoses all the way or the washing machine drain hose wasn't fully seated in the drain all the way. So I get to redo it this afternoon. First coat of mud down... :annoyed:

Dude, love the old rustic look. I would try to salvage that sink, clean up the rest.

They're great in a pinch, but for that money spent on those fittings you can pick up a crimper and be money ahead. They make adapters that solder on the copper and you can go to PEX from there.

I get that, but a crimper also takes a bit more “finagling” in places. Press fit is stupid easy and works just as well.

    Open for input:

    Alternatives to cedar fencing.

Wife wants nice looking fence for the front half - cedar breaking the bank. $11,900+..................120 feet of 6' fencing - cedar plus another 100 ft of chainlink or farm type 5' AND a couple gates (back part) with another 50' of 4' cedar across.

    Open minded. Suggestions?

Rent an auger, buy a string and line level and DIY. Its not that hard.

    I've built many fences.

QUESTION is what alternatives to cedar?
