Steering Rack issues

    Ok. So I pulled my skids and checked the rack bolts. There's at least another 1/4" of threads before they'd bottom out onto the shank.
    There seems to be a fair amount of slop in the mounting eyes themselves. I don't know if the ID of the bush sleeves have the same amount of play as well. For now I'm just going to over torque them a bit and see if it stops the clank and shifting of my steering wheel.

    Thanks. Seems to have a bit of play but the problem was definitely coming from the bushings. I over torqued them and the fix was short lived. They blew out. I've since noticed the rack is also leaking so it's time for a new rack. Trucks been parked since late August now. I ordered a new rack from my local dealer in August. Still waiting for it to show up on backorder. I've done some fender trimming and plan to rebuild my coilovers(again).. in the meantime. All good. Got a 2001 miata to daily until the parts show and I can do the install.. hopefully before the snow..
