Picked up today. Ordered 12/9/21, built 2/3/22, shipped via wagon train with tired horses and little or no information. Limited Army Green- did not get hickory leather interior had to take black. Thanks to everyone here for helping keep me sane for the last 4 months and the help with Toyota’s web site. Best of luck for everyone waiting for their Tacoma.

 

Truck was built 3/10 and is in freight status now, no eta listed

 

Ordered mine the same exact way along with the salesmens email stating no markup over msrp.

 

I just put my name on the list for a 22 Magnetic Gray TRD Off-Road with the Premium Package. Dealer told me I’m number 8 on this list, 3-4 months out.

 

So my VSpec finally updated to have an ETA field but it is not populated with a value and the dealerCategory is still "A".... The dealer told me it was supposed to be on the Truck and on the lot by Monday... We shall see... i'll be calling monday morning.

 

My truck is still in F - freight status with no ETA on VSPEC but my dealer now has it listed for sale on their site even though I have a signed contract for the car.

I'm not surprised it's showing up online and as "in transit" because I ran into the same thing when I called a couple of months back. Just about every car they had listed on the site was already sold.

At least it's getting closer to driving my new Tacoma.

 

Ordered the end of January, started building on Feb 16th, delivered the very end of March and picked it up on April 2nd.

 

It moved !!!! 7 miles to 8 eta 4/11 to 4/16 still in freight status. Drove by dealer not there. Assuming it’s going to be there soon. 8 miles I’m thinking maybe they are driving from long beach to Phoenix.

 

Anyone here order a 2022 long bed off road? Dealers keep telling me they only see long beds as 2wd, but I know thats not true because my dealer has a rental OR lb. Tried to buy it but they refused.

Also is the allocation for an entire region? does the dealer pick vehicles from a pool of allocated vehicles for a region or do that have any say in what they receive? How does the dealer actually get a specific truck from the allocation?

So, I have a deposit down for a Lunar Rock ACLB Offroad. Went to another dealer that had one on the lot with the same specs but in white. Their price was about 2k over with "dealer installed accessories".

Do I pull the trigger on the white and go get my deposit back or wait just a month for my Lunar Rock to be delivered?

 

Allocations are dealer specific, but they can trade with other dealers if the deal is advantageous for both parties. There is no obtaining a specific allocation, the dealer simply gets what Toyota gives them....

 

If it were me I would wait for the lunar rock, but that is because I love that color.....Plus I refuse to pay dealer markups or for accessories I don't need

 

No change on vspec site for me. Still showing 4/14-4/19, which seems like a broad range for being so close. Also, other than entering the VIN was there anything else you had to do to see miles/gas in the toyota app? mine still show as blank with n/a as the tire pressure. Wonder if mine is on a ship instead of a train, no signal out at sea?

 

yeah, I'm just not a big of a fan of the white. I really do love the Lunar Rock more. Gonna keep this for a long time so, I really want to be happy.

 

You do whatever you think is correct for YOU. No one can make that decision for you man.

 

Entirely upto you and your situation. I am paying 1k over MSRP on the truck I'm waiting on, but it was only a 1-2 week wait at that point, and the ONLY dealer I found that sold at MSRP, had nothing that wasn't already claimed. And since my current vehicle is on its last legs, I'd rather pay the extra 1k for sooner, especially since it is just about a perfect match for what I was looking for.

As far as colors, that's a personal pref and entirely on you.

 

Yeah, just wanted to hear some opinions. I'm likely gonna wait for my LR to arrive. Happy with the MSRP price and the color I wanted.

I think just seeing one on the lot TODAY kinda threw me for a loop and made me reconsider.
