Finally finished installing the MESO tail lights and Total Chaos bed stiffeners! They look so much better than stock, and can't wait to see them at night.

Yep, No issues whatsoever, usually you're fine to go up an inch without mods. I have since put on BP-51s but before it was fine, no rubbing anywhere.

Using a mallet to install those lights is risky :boink: :anonymous:

Yes it is. Thank you for posting. When I saw your post I was like hell yes that's what I need. Just a little peace of mind knowing I wont be stranded if I lose my keys and have no cell signal.

So where do you hide the box? My wife got me a hitch safe a while back that I have used a couple of times when we participate in water activities so the key fob stays dry. This box may be a good backup.

Good idea but why you need the knife to open the fob? Use the key.

I’ve had rear disc brakes with shoes for the parking brake (had shoes that opened against the ID of the rotor). Never known a drum brake to have separate set of pads for parking brake, however. Seems odd.

I think he uses the knife to open the fob so he can replace the battery he took out.

Hid it underneath the truck. The box has 2 strong magnets.
The key is too thick for the crease around the fob. I know there is a little slit that the key fits into to pop the fob open but this will make it easier. I also wanted it because the battery is sealed in the plastic that isnt easy to just tear open. Dont really use that knife for anything and it fit so I thought why not.

Why do you remove the battery? To keep it from dying or so you can lock the fob inside the Taco? You can disable it: “To disable your keyfob from transmitting a unlock code. *Hold down on the lock button and then push the unlock button twice. Its now disabled. * To enable the keyfob just it the unlock button.“

I bought pvc ones as well, but ordered some custom stitching. I did not want to worry about leather.

Removed it to keep it from dying and corroding in the fob. Just more peace of mind. I will probably check on the box every once and awhile but it's a hide it and forget it until I need it type of thing.
