Ya know sorry I forgot to mention if you didn't know but the hybrid awnings are included in the sale. I bought one like a week or so b4 my tent.

The mattress is far better than that green junk you get with most other RTT for sure

Oh man yeah. It would have cost me less than $125 in fuel to pick it up in Bend yet had to pay $360 to have it shipped from Vegas. The larger Ranier would have been over $600 in shipping.

    I think you'll find it's worth it!

Hey all.... I am suspension inept, so am looking for advice. I got the UpTop mid height RTT and a SB tent.
Considering I am a little top heavy, in and out of bumps and trails, I am done with the body rolling.
What would eliminate, or reduce that roll when off roading with the best bang for the buck?
Is that stiffer springs, sway bar, shocks?
Correct me if I am wrong, but the SR5 does not have sway bars.

    Yeah.
Pretty sure all the 6-lugs have an anti-sway bar, although I think its thickness varied on the different models -- I think the Off Road got a smaller one for better articulation. But that should mainly affect your body roll on pavement, and limit articulation on trails.

I have the Pro with stock suspension and a similar setup, and I don't find body roll to be an issue. BUT, I have Firestone RideRite air bags on the rear that I adjust for the extra weight, which may help (I have no experience without them). Better shocks might help a little, but spring rate is your likely culprit. You may want to try air bags or sumo springs on the back first, then change to better shocks when yours are worn out. Alternatively, you could change out your leaf packs with something a bit sturdier, and stiffer coilovers on the front to help, but that costs more.

As with all things, there are trade-offs. You may fix the body roll, but find it rides rougher. My suggestion would be to start with RideRites. Estimate your added weight, divide by 40, and add 5 to find your starting psi.

Your truck should have a sway bar. That helps limit body roll.

Best bang for your buck budget setup will be a set of 5100s. For a little more money if you go with 6112/5160 setup that's probably the peak of the performance curve of value per dollar spent.

Kind of bummed about this, I've spent three nights in my new CVT Hybrid and this piece of velcro on the cover cam unstitched. They said the glue must have failed but the thing is obviously sewn on. Blah blah, dude sent me a link to buy some glue to fix it with from home depot. I don't mind doing the repair (wouldn't have given it a second though if this had happened two years from now) but kind of annoyed that they wouldn't just send me the stuff to fix it at least. Am I being unreasonable here?

Edit: They are taking care of me. Buy with confidence.

You called them and it's relatively new and that was their answer? That's very unlike any dealings myself or others have had with them. Usually they're very good. No, I don't think you're being unreasonable.

A month ago. Dude got back to me and said the don't have anything to send out but will reimburse me for whatever I pick up to repair it, and will send me some schwag for the inconvenience. I'll probably give sewing it back on a shot before I get into gluing it down. My old tent's transit cover got a loose seam after years of use and it was easy enough to trace the holes.

I'd probably glue and sew it.. then glue the inside to coat the holes.. but I'm OCD so don't mind me.. haha

FWIW I'm 99.8% positive they don't use glue for these in manufacturing, just sewed on. The rest of the tent is certainly a few steps up in quality compared to the one I purchased from them back in 2013, and that one served us great.

I just got one and set it up for the first time and noticed stains on one of the inside stargazer flaps. They advised trying hot water and oxiclean to remove (although hadn't seen this before). Still have to open it again and try cleaning. They did say they may have another replacement tent body if it doesn't work.

Might consider this method instead of sewing. Three screws through the base frame. My tent is 7yr old and haven't had any issues with them.

My tent is a Hybrid series, it doesn't have those straps. My issue is a velcro strip that holds the zipper cover flap is coming unattached from the travel cover.

Opened my CVT Mt. Hood hardshell today for the first time since the fall. Found water had made its way into the tent and under the mattress. No mold or mildew, and it has rained a ton here in the last week so I don’t know how recent the water made it’s way in. Tent lives on the truck year round and truck lives outside.
Does anyone put anything on the rubber seal to make it more water tight?
