As a lake dweller, we appreciate it. The worst offenders are the cigarette boats with the captains choice switch that’s always set to “look at me” mode. Even at 2am.

Oof. Yeah, I don't like to boat at night. My boat is loud-ish, so I'll only fire it up in the driveway if I need fix something. When I first bought it, the guy next door came over because he thought I was running something with open headers.

I love this type of boat...hard to find on the East Coast, unfortunately. I can't think of a more versatile boat style...not even sure what it's called. There seems to be a distinct name for ever other type of boat ever created...but this one. "Aluminum Fishing Boat" around here (VA) just gets you 500+ results for a Jon/Bass Boat.
I ended up buying a Stratos 386XF...kind of a Fish/Ski Walleye boat, but eventually I'm going to buy something like yours.

No the Tacoma does not struggle pulling it but you know it’s there behind you plus double the stopping distance i’ll upgrade the trailer brakes soon.

Drove 7hrs to pick up this 91 Prostar yesterday. The old 3.4 wasn't too happy pulling the hills in eastern Oregon but she did it. Trailer axle was 3400lbs and added another 500lbs to the rear truck axle. Couldn't imagine pulling another 1k at the tow capacity max. Need night time temps to stop dropping below freezing so I can take it out!

I always knew you had taste Ryan :)

I’ve got more miles pulling the 88 Tristar with a 3.4 than I care to count. Kept it in third gear and let it sing

I dug the Prostar 214/X14 out of its parking spot in the shop today. Got a new thermostat, coolant impeller, ballast impellers, fixed a ground loop issue in the head unit, fresh wheel bearing grease, new brake pads and new trailer tires.

Just need the lows to stay above freezing and I’ll break out the slalom ski and wet suit

Been debating if I want to get a new head unit or see if the original still works and use a cassette bluetooth adapter. Also need some speakers. Didn't get to poke around it to much today but started a list of things that need attention, nothing major.

That’s the beauty of them. Especially a 91/92 still with the carbed 351 Windsor. Great hull and you can always, always get parts for that motor. I updated mine from points to HEI a couple years ago after I got tired of messing around sanding points every year though. The rest of the boat is dead simple too with no medallion to cause dead gauges either.

    Still thinking about it.
It took a year for the dealer to get it all together but I finally picked up my idea of an Alaskan river jet boat that fits my budget. Alweld 1448, Yamaha 25.

This carb is killing me. Floats were never set so they would top out on the bowl before closing the needle. Accelerator pump linkage was seized along with the choke plate. This has been my first time messing with carbs and it sure has been a learning experience. Still won't run right. Had it sounding decent in neutral but once it gets a load on it it is super rich. Hoping to check timing this week and that that ends up being the issue.

I know the feeling, my only experience with carbs on non small engines is on the 351. I have had issues with float height and leaking needles letting fuel drip out the boosters. To the point of just wanting to throw another 4160 on it and be done. The only unique parts are the j-vents that help keep fuel from sloshing out

Finally taking this COVID project out for a test run Saturday. 1975 ThunderCraft Magnum 160. Bought it from the granddaughter of the original owner. It was their family boat for decades.
The motor was rebuilt and runs like a top. Now we'll see if she floats. Cosmetically the boat looks good from a distance. Has its share of bumps up close. Nothing a little lipstick & rouge can't fix. I've stripped out the interior and am getting ready to put a new floor and seats inside. New battery & wiring. New lights, bearings, winch, dolly, wheels & tires on the trailer. I'm installing new cushions up front tomorrow. While it's off the trailer Saturday I replace the keel rollers on the trailer. I plan to repaint the trailer in July.
