At my old job we had a Cushman tug with a seat switch of the style below that gave lighter operators trouble. I used a hole saw to cut an OSB doughnut and hot glued it to the top of the switch, problem solved.
The switch still functioned correctly, it was just a bit more forgiving with a lighter operator.

 

IMHO I would 10x chose the cassis cab over a trailer. It’s for work not personal. You can fit a truck more places than a truck and trailer.

if you only have one truck a trailer is the way to go but you have multiple, get what what works for your business and speeds up the profit making.

 

I'm still going back and forth. I do have another dump trailer but it's a little bigger than I need on a daily basis (16' triple axle) so because of this I am kind of leaning towards getting something like an f-550 with a 12-14' dump bed but I don't know. The trailer that got stolen (14' double axle) was just perfect in so many ways. I'll keep you all updated. It'll be a couple of weeks before I pull the trigger on anything.

 

Mower service today and new fuel lines, 12’ worth, oil and filter and air filter. That’s a different hour meter, has about 600 more hours on it.

I've had around 6 vehicles stop and look at my ZT's I have out to the road . That many inquiries thru the FB market.

 

Was cleaning up some scrap today. Had a 25 HP Kawasaki with hole in the block. Was curious about the magnets in the flywheel. Wanted see if they were similar to the Kohler Command engines I like to play with.

They are identical.

The magnets were very well attached. I was afraid of breaking the ceramic mags.

I put the FW in the grill, took the temp up to *350.

Tapped a razor blade between the FW and the mag. The magnets popped right off with no breakage!

I am annoyed that I just paid $55 for magnets, when I already had a set.

Make sure you mark the magnets with a temperature resistant marker. They are polarity sensitive. They need to be installed in the same order they were in the previous FW.

All educations are expensive, embarrassing or painful or all 3.

Next time you get a blown Kawasaki or Kohler Command, save those magnets before you send it to the scrap yard.

An easy $50 on the 'bay.

If you were closer I'd be interested. I really [crazily] enjoy using a walk behind. Toss on some muff with speakers in them, some tunes, and I can mow for hours in 4th gear. Can't stand it using a 22'' cut mower as it seems I'm getting nothing done and they are SLOWWWWWWWW. And I have a couple decent ZT's to use, I just enjoy using a walk behind. My old Troy bilt transmission finally gave up the ghost last spring, I got a lot of years [13] out of it, especially since it was a garage sale buy for $125. A lot of the parts on that look exactly the same as the troy bilts.

 

This one was free, but it needed all cables and belts replaced, new tires, both yolk assemblies, and a carburetor. It had been sitting outside uncovered for 2-3 years, but, runs and mows great now.

I hate FAG. I'd rather have a full gasket like I have in the picture, but the correct one of course. I guess this is one of the Kohler's that doesn't have a true gasket.

This project is starting to annoy me. Bad magnets in the FW, leaky case, leaky drain valve.

Same parts, Troy Built/Cub Cadet both built by MTD.

 

Dad stopped by and helped me drop and clean up a 70’ shagbark hickory tree. I hated to drop such a mature tree on the property but it was right in the way of trying to get in and out of the shop. I had numerous close calls with it and my Dad backed his Tundra into it this winter so that was the straw that broke the camel’s back.





Ran through 3 gallons of fuel in a couple saws cutting it up and the 9N saved my back hauling all of it away. Took about 7 hours to do from start to completely cleaned up

Renting a big ride on grinder for a weekend soon. I’ve got about 7-8 to grind out in various places. Drug my feet on doing it last year because I knew I would want to clear some space near the shop this spring

 

I think this is the route I am going to go as well. Was thinking about buying a $2000 stump grinder but they look like a lot of work.

 

We had a large pecan taken down a couple years ago and we had an old oak stump in the yard. Hired a guy who had a stump grinder that was remote control, it was slick. I don't remember what he charged but it was very reasonable.
