My retaining clip has fallen down from the collapsible steering shaft.

    i took it to the dealer they got it back in then when i went off roading it came lose its still up but its loose rather than tight, they were going to replace the whole shaft but they said because im lifted they would never be able to align all the sensors, basically saying im screwed

    if its still in up and in the groove. you're fine. loose a little bit should be fine as long as it's still holding the rod down.

    Yeah, mine had this same thing. I had to pry the column down toward the firewall with a sturdy oak board until I could see the groove and then pushed this clip back into the groove. It seems to be holding and the steering feels totally different.

    Im running into this same issue after relocating the body mounts. Looks like on my next day off I’ll be pushing the ring back up. Thanks guys. I found that the clunking noise is coming from here in the photo. P.s. sorry for the dog hair in the photo.

    How did you pull it down? I’ve been messing with it a bit and can’t seem to expose the groove. Will try more tomorrow.
