Mine came in a few weeks ago and I had to clamp the cat wings to the transmission skid and drill 4 holes per side.

or, could mount the rail over the top of the molle panel-- the molle panel bolts will already line up with the oem mounting points due to the stepped brackets included with them. biggest disadvantage to this method though is that it could put a serious side-load on that aluminum adapter that would normally drop the rail. it might be fine, i dunno, just not something i'd be personally happy with attempting to safely strap down a 1,000pound motorcycle, or in my case 2 washing machines and a floppy rusty grille missing 3 wheels so it's unstable in the bed... of course, this is the method that the tonneau cover company is essentially recommending to do. i just don't like the appearance of it. i don't trust that 2 ratchet straps tightened down over the top of something won't cause some bent hardware issues...

3rd potential option that you would need to investigate with the parts on hand would be to alter the rail mounting holes to mount over the top of the aluminum adapters in the oem location, but with that adapter in place behind it. i don't believe the top step-over to attach to the tonneau provides enough clearance, and it looks like there might also be a pneumatic strut mount obstructing this method as well. but it's the only other option i can think of to make that work as-is.

Thanks for the D-ring suggestion. I think that is the best option with my set-up.

Re greased UCA’s, added pre-load, put the rack on. Hopefully get the bumper on soon. Time is definitely limited with a newborn now

Drum brakes, and the keyless start on the manual. I can definitely agree on those. The tune I guess is for both mpg and safety, but my gti had settings for Econ, reg, and sport, which would be a great feature on the Tacoma. I assume the keyless start nonsense is due to the clutch start cancel switch. They can’t figure out how to omit the clutch switch or add another button to engage it instead of having the giant h key. Drums on the rear is just lazy. And the charger is a joke.

Recently installed a Spiker Engineering hood strut, ARB Twin compressor on a Slee mount, and got my beat rattle canned RCI sliders a fresh powder-coat!

Make sure your skid plate has sides that are vertical. I must have an older version with 45 degree sides so the cat guard wont work.

For me, the knob covers just slipped on and stayed, and I didn't have to force them. They come with a strip of double sided tape so if they're too lose, you could secure them that way. Some folks on here have said they were a tight fit, so I'm guessing the diameters vary a bit from batch to batch.

I installed similar temp knob covers but discovered they were very loose in the winter time in SW Ontario.

Thanks. I just looked at a photo from when I installed the skid and I will need to drill the holes as well. I just received them about 6 weeks ago I’m guessing since it only took a few days to receive them after ordering I got one that was already on hand before they started shipping them pre-drilled.

I recently took off my driver side grab handle from her who shall remain nameless. I replaced it with the original trim piece from Toyota, BUT I don't know what happened to the small badge/cover going over the bolt. It says "SRS Airbag."

Does anyone know that particular OEM part number? It's a small piece of plastic and can't be that expensive to replace.

My '42 Studebaker also had only one door with a key hole - but it was on the pax side - by design that was so you didn't stand in traffic to open, lock, or unlock the door. That's advanced thinking. That's safe thinking.
As was the pax side wheels having left-hand threaded lugs. Thus they would self tighten when the truck was in forward motion, just as the driver side would in fwd motion. (Along the same thought lines as bolts placed w/ head at the top in vertical applications and at the front in horizontal applications (aka "direction of flight")).

It is weird to me that modern designers skip such elementary precautions.
Of course we'll ignore that the Stude came with only one tail light (driver side), one outside mirror (driver door), and no turn signals (have to use your arm). But it has push-button start! When it was my daily driver, I added another tail light.

- The one saving grace in my eyes is that the Stude has a bench seat. It is easy to scoot from pax side to driver side. Not so easy with Taco's bucket seats.
