Good theory, but the pros resolved this one by adding 1/4” on the passenger side. I drove around with blue painters tape and no rub until I put it in reverse. Not sure how to fix that beyond a spacer, which I’m not into.

You have the alignment numbers after you put in the springs?

I don’t, I had Toyota install them to maintain warranty. Heading in there this week for the 5k service. Do you have something in mind I should ask them about?

Um, so that distance is a static space. Hub, is on the cast steel of the spindle. If your now randomly rubbing and your werent before. Bent spindle.
Or, you never noticed it before.

For the idiots in the room, what do you mean by static space? Would I have a bent spindle with only 2k miles on it, mostly freeway? I can’t feel anything, so it’s possible I’m just now noticing it.

I mean, technically Toyota has been. I’m no mechanic. I’ll check it out because I like to learn nonetheless, so thanks.

Did they charge you for an alignment? Lol
Just look to get a normal alignment numbers on the new lift…
    0 to Slight toe in
    0 camber
    3-4 caster.

If it wasn’t aligned its worth taking a look at, that said, most people rub on regular 33s.

People who say you won’t rub aren’t checking at full lock, full flex and full compression…it could really just be an easy fix to to throw in some hub centric .5” spacers or get new wheels with the correct back spacing.

    You’re using TRD pro wheels w/ 33s?

Yes, the pro wheels. Is it something I need to be concerned about? Seems most people feel it when it’s rubbing, but I feel no difference between driving straight or at full lock forward or in reverse.

Well I don’t think your truck will like break apart or anything. I personally don’t like rubbing or having a bad alignment myself but on this forum, “concerns” will vary.

Static as in never moves or changes. It’s always the same. It doesn’t matter what your alignment is.
It needs to be checked out and if under warranty let them deal with it.
The spindles on these trucks are pretty weak and all it takes is a good pot hole in the freeway to tweak it.

I appreciate the clarification. I’ll have them look at it this week. Does it mean anything that it’s not rubbing on the other side?

I'm not an expert on this, so maybe other people can confirm to what I am saying.

But I would upgrade your UPC to something else. Your caster numbers are low which will cause the truck to wander back and forth while driving over 45mph. Plus an after market UPC will have more space between the UPC and the tire then too. Then the next step after that would be looking at the backspace of your rims in which you would want some wheel spacers or different rims. But i would go with UPC's first and its likely going to make everything better.
